Fall 2010 Overview

The Fall season is open to players from any town to join any of the four divisions (U8, U10, U12, and U15). Games run from the second week of September through the end of October. All games are played in Acton and Boxborough. For the fall season, all players must be in first grade or above (or must have already played in the U6 T-ball division in the Spring 2009 season) and players must have been born on or after January 1, 1995. Please note that there is a U6 T-ball division offered each spring season for players in Kindergarten.

AB Fall Softball uses school grades and not birthday information to place players in divisions:
U8 - entering grade 1 or 2, coach pitch
U10 - entering grade 3 or 4, coach and player pitch
U12 - entering grade 5 or 6, player pitch
U15 - entering grade 7 and above (up to age requirement), player pitch

Sunday Night Pitch & Catch Clinic

See the Clinic page for details.

Safety & Training
AB Youth Softball will now require players to have a wire face guard on their helmets. The league is supplying team helmets with face guards for U10 and up. ALL players at U10 and above will be required to have a face guard on the helmet. So if your child has their own helmet, it must have a face guard installed.

AB Youth Softball has purchased softball training videos and has donated them to the Acton Library. These tapes are excellent for both players and coaches. The video titles are:
"Hitting Mechanics & Circuit Training"
"Coaching Fast Pitch"
"Fast Pitch - Strategies of the game"
"Defensive Strategy in Softball"
"Fast Pitch Pitching"
