Senior League Sign Ups/Registration at the Redbud Field!

If you haven’t done it yet, it’s time for all Senior League players to register. And, to make sure that everyone has a chance to sign up and play, Abilene South will be having a week long registration the entire week starting Monday at the Redbud Field. Check out the information below that’s needed to complete the registration. You can even download the forms, complete them and bring them with you, or we have the forms available to fill out.
Don’t forget to come out to the Abilene South field at Redbud any night Monday April 2nd thru Friday April 6th, and sign up to play.

Junior League Tryouts Rescheduled to Thursday and Friday!
Due to poor field conditions, the Abilene South Junior League tryouts have been rescheduled to:
Thursday, Feb. 23rd and Friday, Feb. 24th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm both nights.
**If the original tryout time you have is from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm on Saturday, your new tryout time is Friday, Feb. 24th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
**If the original tryout time you have is from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Saturday, Your new tryout time is Thursday, Feb. 23rd from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
**Do you still have to register? Come between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm either night.
***If you can make it to tryouts on Thursday or Friday come to the field on Sunday, Feb. 26th from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

Parents, you can complete and bring your registration forms (click the links below) to Registration:
Important Forms for Player Registration and Volunteers: You can complete the Player Registration form, and Medical Release form ahead of time and bring them with you to the Redbud field, along with the "Proof of Age" & "Proof of Residency" information listed below.
1. Proof of Age Documentation Requirements (Original Birth Certificate, or Certified Copy).
2. Proof of Residency Documentation Requirements = 3 Proofs Required (Only one Utility Bill, Driver's License, Voter's Registration, Cable TV Bill, Phone Bill, etc.).
The Registration Fee is $85.00.

Abilene South Junior & Senior League – Time Limits for Regular Season Games
When discussing the established regular season game time limits for Abilene South at the Redbud Field, we have to first point out that there has been an accumulation of eight years of experience with different options and combinations of start times, and most importantly, when is a game suspended for completion at a later date. And yes, there has been discussion at each level of Little League Baseball including the highest level in Williamsport.
To begin with, the goal is and has always been to insure if at all possible, that the most games reach at least the five innings played required to meet Little League Baseball’s definition of “completed game status,” without ever being suspended.Another often overlooked and many times unknown fact to the average “fan in the stands,” is the Little League rule that a new inning in a game cannot start after the time of 10:30pm, with no exceptions. That is basically our “drop-dead time” that automatically suspends a game that has not reached the fifth inning.
There are a couple of simple, but firm rules that were adopted by the Board several years ago, and get the best results at Abilene South. The first one is to be sure and get the 6:00pm game to complete status (5 innings with no tie). If tied, additional “extra” innings will be played accordingly. The second is to adhere to the 10:30pm curfew in the nightcap game.
Unfortunately, “times limits” is a fact of life during the regular season. But come All-Star tournament time there is no time limit for games, just the curfew (11:30pm) at the end-of-night that must be adhered to.
Finally, the really good news is that surprisingly, most 8:00pm games are completed, with very few actually being suspended and finished at a later date.
