ABINGTON BASEBALL CLUB TRAVEL PROGRAM
Abington Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania 19001

2008 CAMPAIGN BEGINS APRIL 18th

This weekend kicks off the 2008 Montco League spring season with all four of our under thirteen teams seeing action.  Expectations are high this season at all levels after a strong player turn-out for spring tryouts, and with the addition of several capable coaches joining the club.

Our 10 year old Rookies, lead by coaches Joe Meizinger and John Alcorn, get things started Friday night at Ambler.  Coach Rob Fillman moves up to the bantam division with an away game at first year league member Liberty Bell Saturday morning.  Greg Wagner's Midgets come ready to defend their title as league champions with a home game at Renninger Park in Glenside agaist neighboring Roslyn, beginning at 10:30 AM.  On Sunday morning, new coach Brent May takes his 11 year olds against Somerton.

Parents - please make use of this website to check schedules and obtain directions to away games.  Additionally, work with your teams coach to add your action photos, game results, and team statistics.

Our History
2008 will be our seventh year as a member of the competitive Montco Youth Baseball League. ABC was originally developed as a cooperative effort of the Ardsley North Hills Athletic Association (ANHAA), the Glenside Youth Athletic Club (GYAC), and the Abington-Roychester Baseball Association (ARBA).   The sole purpose of the Abington Baseball Club (ABC) is to provide competitive sports for the children of Abington so they may learn the ideals of sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, and courage. In addition to spring baseball, ABC sponsors fall baseball teams for players age twelve and older from late August to late October.

We also invite our parents to join us as coaches, as fund raisers, and supporters. Board members, coaches and guest meet every second Tuesday (8 PM) at the VFW Post 676.

Our Bernie Fisher – President of ABC, former representative from ANHAA
Jay Shire – Vice President of ABC, and representative from GYAC
Mike Mullen – Treasurer of ABC, and representative from ARBA
Jim McCoach – Board Member (GYAC)
Mike Palermo - Board Member
