The Academic Basketball Association ("ABA") was founded in September of 2000 by Guy Laguana, Karl Hicks, Kenneth Bibbins and Margie Bibbins. ABA serves the following communities: Carson, Torrance, Long Beach, Compton, Gardena, Hawthorne, Inglewood, Lawndale, and other adjoining areas in the Los Angeles County. The mission of ABA is to provide a positive, safe and nurturing environment where youth are encouraged through academic excellence and sports participation to become responsible members of their community. We believe that academics should come before basketball. ABA, a non-profit (501)(c)(3) youth basketball organization welcomes young men from all ethnicities, backgrounds and faiths.
**ABA's next tournament will be March 17-18, 2012 at CSUDH**
