ASIA BASKETBALL ACADEMY

Welcome to basketball development in Hong Kong, teaching fundamental skills and drills beyond the limitations of streetball.
Through our unique grading system, ABA students become "prime time players" progressing to higher levels of play.
Head coach: Coach Tim Darling coached with Canadian Universities Acadia, Brandon and Guelph and professional teams in Europe, Asia, and with the HK men's national team. Coach Darling has also worked with Toronto Raptors as a scouting consultant.
Director: Dr. David Cosman has been an international sports doctor, sport- therapist, conditioning and technique coach since graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1984.
Dr. Cosman and Coach Darling have worked with the Hong Kong Mens' National Basketball team since the 1998 Asian Games. Dr. Cosman has been the team doctor and assistant coach.
Under Coach Tim Darling, the Hong Kong national team made it to the quarter finals at the Asian Games in 2002 - the best finish in the history of Hong Kong basketball!

Monday, Tuesday: 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Thursday: 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Friday: no classes
Saturday: no classes until July
Sunday morning: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Varies with court availability, please confirm with us.
COST:
* For a small group (3 to 5 players:
- a single session is $300.00 per player
- a 10 session package is HK$2000.00 per player
* The cost of an individual session is HK$500.00
AGE GROUPS:
These are generally divided up as follows:
5 and 6 year olds
7 to 11 year olds
12 and 13 year olds
14 to 19 year olds
* The under 13s will also focus on fun 'hand-eye coordination games and skills'.
** We can conducting large classes if specially arranged or announced in this site.
* ABA concentrates on fundamentals as this is key to playing well.
CAMPS (call or email us to arrange):
* We offer schools and clubs the opportunity of day camps.
* This will involve skills and drills and games.
* Cost of the sessions vary as the requirements will be different.
COACHING CERTIFICATION:
* Coach Tim Darling will be instructing clinics which will cover technical, theoretical and practical coaching for levels 1, 2, 3 and 4.
* This clinic will be aimed at teachers, coaches and parents that may wish to learn the methods of coaching basketball correctly. Hopefully increasing the amount of qualified coaches in schools will dramatically improve the standard of basketball in HONG KONG.
CLINICS FOR THE OVER 40 PLAYER:
* For beginner, intermediate and advanced players.

* To Gary Boyson - a former ABA coach and assistant to Darling at the Pusan Asian Games. He is now full time as an international scout for the Los Angeles Lakers! Tell Mitch and Ronnie and Kobe and Andrew and Paul and.....that we said hi!
