COACH OF THE YEAR
Bill Brittain (Veritas Blue) Best prepared, most organized.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Richard Valasquez (Estrella A) Easily the most talented player in the league on both sides of the ball. Best arm, a top flight runner and a stellar defender.
IRONMAN
Aaron Gonsher (Veritas Blue) A smart quarterback that would make a big-time run rather than throw a bad pass. One of the leagues best defensivebacks.
TOP GUN (QUARTERBACK)
Alex Dillogas-Verde Park A second teamer last year, did a great job with Verde's motion offense.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Gerod Wilson (Cortez Park) abig play receiver, a top-flight running back. Led the league in 45+ yard scored on offense & defense. May be the leagues fastest player.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Mike Fox (Veritas Blue) Won it last year. Mike was again a player to avoid in the secondary, running several interceptions back for touchdownsand the worst possible time for the other team.
OUTSTANDING RECEIVER
Mike Duvall (Veritas Blue) Not huge numbers, but a huge kid. A reliable go-to guy and the set up man for most of Blue's big plays.
OUTSTANDING RUNNING BACK
Teryon Tate (ARSAP) An easy pick as the leagues best "pure" running back. He has shifty moves, low enter of gravity & does it on the ground and as a receiver.
OUTSTANDING DEFENSIVE BACK
Marquise Perkins (Estrella B) A shutdown corner that will "run it back" on you if a mistake is made. Cat quick with houdini moves. Very exciting player.
Annie Nevels (ARSAP) In just a few games she gained league-wide respect and made a mark as a safety, running back her share of interceptions for touchdowns. She also has go deep speed as a receiver.
OUTSTANDING RUSHER
Carlos Sanchez (Verde Park) & Tiaony Denny (Cortez Park). These two were easily the top two in sacks and the annoying against the run.

2003 ALL AAC FOOTBALL & BLUE CHIP LIST
2003 Post Season Individual Awards
 |
 |
| "Chasda" Winner Josh Taylor (Outstanding Football Player) |
 |
Awards are named after Coach Mo SportsGroup & Lightning Track Club Alumni
THE CHASDA-OUTSTANDING FOOTBALL PLAYER
(Chasda Martin)
An original member of the Lightning Track Club. A former All- America running back at Moon Valley, Chasda is now at grad-school (Northwestern University). He began training with Coach Mo as a 9 year old. He was also an all-state sprinter. Original Speed-camper.
Winner-Joshua Taylor (JWJ Academy)
Great arm with hoodini moves. Taylor had more than a dozen pass or run plays of more than 50 yards. He was also one of the leagues top defensive backs. A great combination of speed & size, Joshua had a hand in 80% of JWJ's scoring plays.
THE "SIMEON" -OUTSTANDING LINEMAN
Outstanding 3 sport high school athlete, collegiate All-America (Illinois) and all-pro with the Tampa Bay Buccaneerss. Trains with Coach Mo during the off-season.
Winner-Phillip Toman (VPA)
Quietly, Toman dominated the line and made plays while team-mate Josh Tesoriero was being double teamed. Key in the win vs JWJ II, he forced the Eagles to an inside game, advantage VPA.
THE TRAVIS-OUTSTANDING QUARTERBACK
Travis Brown
Travis was an all-state quarterback at Moon Valley high school and played safety for Coach Mo as an underclassman. He went on to set records at NAU and was drafted by the Buffalo Bills. Along with Chasda, he was an original Coach Mo Speed-Camper.
Winner-Chris Cottrell (VPA)
Cottrell was clearly the best pure passer in the league. Stayed calm & cool under pressure. Read defenses well. Made plays. Mixed the pass & run as well as anyone. Big day was the 3 TD passes vs JWJ.
THE AENEAS-OUTSTANDING DEFENSIVE PLAYER
Named after speedcamp alumni Aeneas Williams (St. Louis Rams). Known for his honorable yet tenatious play and work ethic.
Winner-Mike Fox (VPA)
Covered the leagues best recievers, usually much bigger & faster, like a blanket in big games. A league leader with 7 interceptions, including 3 while covering the elusive big play receiver Joey Sanchez. A fiery competetor, and he made plays.....period.
OUTSTANDING RECEIVER
Winner: Joshua Tesoriero (Veritas Academy)
Unstoppable. Perfect combination of speed & size. A real playmaker. Not afraid to catch the ball in traffic. Got better as the season progressed. Great route runner.
FRANK SANDERS UNSUNG HERO AWARD
John Paul Mulhern-Veritas Academy
Against Kenilworth, Veritas was the underdog because of KMS' overall speed and the absence of All-AAu quarteback Chris Cottrell. John Paul distinguished himself by completing 11 of 19 passes for 120 yards and two touchdown passes, all of this despite being hurried by pesky All-AAU rusher Jose Ibarra.
OUTSTANDING RUNNINGBACK
Adrian Sanfie (JWJ Academy)
Easily the best back in the league. Great acceleration and great stats even though teams were focused on keeping him from going up the sidelines. Cat quick, he's a power runner with homerun speed. Also one of the leagues best cover men.
COACH OF THE YEAR (Tie)
Tom Vierra (VPA) & Shawn Simpson (JWJ)
Good guy & villian. Quiet & loud. Good ole cash & carry. Hoss one & hoss two. Luke Skywalker & Darth Vader. Verbal abusers of the officiating profession. A rivalry for the ages. VPA vs JWJ. These two took AAU football to another level. Different personalities, same result. Two good teams. Two good coaches.
