Hornet Little League - AAA-Padres: Welcome

Wednesday, February 8
Welcome to the AAA Padres of the Hornet Little League!

Hello and welcome to the 2012 Little League season! The league held
its draft last night and the results are in. Your son was drafted by
me and will play for the AAA Padres! As some of you know, I coached
the AAA Padres last year.

We have our practice schedule out. Beginning February 13th, we will be
practicing weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 5:15 PM. The
practice will be held at the little league fields (next to the Jet
Mart) on field 1. I ask that all kids are at the field by 4:45 PM to
begin stretching and to warm up. Please let me know if there are any
issues with the assigned time. I do understand that basketball is
still in-season and that commitment already exists. We will work
around it.

This year the league is providing the complete uniform. It includes a
jersey, pants, socks, belt and hat. The AAA coaches voted and agreed
upon using "throwback" uniforms this year. I attached a picture of the
jersey for reference. We will be taking orders for matching shirts
that parents can purchase in the coming weeks.

I understand most parents brought their child’s birth certificate and
proof of residence with them at the time of registration. A new policy
was put into place just recently. We are required to have a copy of
each on file. I need each parent to bring a copy of their child’s
birth certificate and a proof of residence with them on the first day
of practice. The proof of residence can be a utility bill, duty
station orders, etc. If there is any information that you do not want
to be seen, please black it out.

Please let me know if there is a better email address to correspond
with you at, as I will be using email for the majority of our
communications.

I look forward to meeting everyone on Monday at the little league
field 1. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Coach Scott

AAA Padres Team News (April 9th, 2012)

Good afternoon AAA Padres! As a reminder, we have practice today and on Wednesday at 4:45 PM by Field 1 on-base. I need everyone there these next two days so we can get back on track! A week off can create a big gap in training. We have a game on Thursday with a meeting time of 4:30 in the city of Lemoore.

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns!

Little League AAA-Padres: Current Information! (March 21st, 2012)

Great game last night! We played very well as a team and I expect that we will have a great season.

Our next game is tomorrow (Thursday, March 22nd) at 6:00 PM. I need all kids at the field by 5:15 PM. The base will be conducting its drill. If you are coming from off base, it is VERY important to get a head start! I would make sure that you are at the from gate by 4:30 PM. It will take a long time to get thru the gate due to the heightened security base wide. They are inspecting ALL vehicles on Thursday and Friday. Please help me out by getting them there on time.

Our "new" shirts should be here later today. I will bring them to the game tomorrow so the team mom can hand them out. It did cost me another $5 to have the names and numbers placed on the back. If you can please help me by pitching in I would greatly appreciate it.

The league schedule can be found here: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B_ACvaASJis8TmdCWTN6TWZUNDZnTTdqMzF5VlZHZw

See you all tomorrow!

Thanks,

Coach Scott

Opening day ceremonies and games have been canceled due to the bad weather.

Parents,

As you are aware, the opening day ceremonies and games have been canceled due to the bad weather. The schedule for the upcoming week (March 19- 24) is as follows:

Monday, March 19th - Practice - Normal time, normal place.

Tuesday, March 20th - Game time! We will be playing the NAS-Giants at NAS Field 1. I need all kids at the field by 5:15 PM.

Thursday, March 22nd - Game time! We will be playing the NAS-Angels at NAS Field 1. I need all kids at the field by 5:15 PM.

I know our Team Mom has released a snack schedule. It is posted on Facebook or you can contact her for a copy. http://www.facebook.com/julie.guris

Our "new" shirts will be in no later than March 21st. I hope to have them in time for game 1 on Tuesday. I went ahead and had the names and numbers added to the shirts. I know there were a couple that did not want the name on the shirt, so I did not add it to them. It did cost an extra $5 per shirt for the names, so if you fell so kind to pitch in what you can I would appreciate it.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Thanks,

Coach Scott

Scrimmage tomorrow vs. the Giants!

Parents,

We have another scrimmage game tomorrow! We will be playing the Giants on Field 1. Please have everyone there at 4:00 PM ready to go! Please do NOT dress them in their uniform. They just need to wear their "street clothes". Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you,

Coach Scott

Uniform Issue!

Parents,

If at all possible, I need a parent from each child at practice on Wednesday. I would like to hand out the uniforms to a parent so I know nothing goes missing. e.g. missing sock or belt. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks,

 Allan

Required equipment for each meeting!

Parents,

Please make sure that your child brings/ wears the following items to each meeting (practice and games):

  1. Athletic sports cup.
  2. Baseball pants or shorts (no jeans).
  3. Water and/ or Gatorade
  4. Glove.
  5. Cleats (no running shoes).

I will be conducting a "cup check" daily. It is very important for each kid to wear thier safety equipment. If they do not have a "cup" on, they will not be allowed to participate that day. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks,

Coach Scott
