Adam Jones Accomplished Althlete & Person Who Gives back to Owen Sound

Zone 8 wishes Adam Jones all the best in his future 

 

Adam is from Owen Sound, ON where he played most of his box lacrosse. In Zone 8 play Adam was a member of the Owen Sound Novice Gold Medal and Midget “A” Silver Medal Provincial Championship teams. Adam refereed lacrosse for  Owen Sound, coached a Pee Wee houseleague team, and volunteered at clinics for first time players.

 

 In 2006, Adam was the first Ontario Jr. B box player to win MVP, Rookie of the Year and Top Scorer awards in the same year, while playing for Owen Sound Jr. B. In 2007 Adam played for both the Owen Sound Jr. B Rams and senior B woodsmen while playing Jr. A in Orangeville.

 

Adam has played his Jr. “A” Lacrosse with the Orangeville Northmen who have won two consecutive Minto Cup Championships. Adam was awarded the 2009 Jimmy Veltman and Dean McLeod Jr. A. awards and was chosen as Ontario’s Jr. “A” M.V.P.

 

Adam played field lacrosse with the Ontario Edge lacrosse during their Gold Medal win at Tournament of Champions in London, ON, 2006.  In 2008 Adam joined Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y. where he continues as a junior. During his first year with Canisius the team won the MACC Divisional championship and Adam was given All American Honors.  During the summer of 2008, as a member of Canada’s Under 19 Silver Medal Championship team, Adam was selected to the First All Star Team as a midfielder and was awarded the Tournament M.V.P

 

Adam’s goal for 2010 is to become a member of the men’s Canadian Field Lacrosse team

 

Adam comes from a long line of lacrosse players. His dad, Brian was a member of the 1978 Canadian World Field Lacrosse Team who beat the United States for the first time to capture the Gold Medal. Adam’s sister Amanda was Captain of Team Ontario and now is playing for Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. Grandpa, Harry Kazarian was a member of the Owen Sound 1950 Mann Cup team.
