Lacrosse is Spreading. London, England April 25th, The Times, discussing Lacrosse reform in Canada, says the elimination of the professional altogether would be the better course and adds that while Canadian Lacrosse is still the best in the world, the gap is rapidly closing up and the time is not far distant when an Australian or English team will be able to hold its own against any representative Canadian team.
Thistle Notes (August 12, 1909)
In driving from Guelph Monday night the Thistles made a record which would be hard to beat. When their cariole arrived in Fergus, the axle grease was smoking. Automobiles or airships weren't to it in a minute. A cow passed them in Marden, but the Thistles' rig caught it again before reaching Fergus. It (the cow) was certainly going some.
Thistle Notes (October 14, 1909)
Brampton Banner says they are telling a funny story down there about a Brampton Lacrosse enthusiast at a game last week in Fergus, who got so excited that he mistook a bottle of shellac for a bottle of linament and smeared the legs of the Brampton captain with the results being his legs becoming so stuck up he could hardly run in his new waterproof legs. The shellac was usually put on sticks to prevent warping.

Harry Kazarian was a member of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the Owen Sports Hall of Fame. His main claim to fame being one of only five players who were members of both the 1950 Owen Sound Crescents, who won the Mann Cup as Canadian senior lacrosse champions, and the 1950-51 Owen Sound Mercurys, who won the Allan Cup as Canadian senior hockey champions. He was a member of four teams who won OMLA champions in the early 1940's and saw service in senior and intermediate lacrosse with teams in Hamilton, Owen Sound and Fergus. He was named to the Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1987. Besides being a player, he helped out in minor, junior and senior lacrosse in Owen Sound and served on the Ontario Lacrosse Association's board of governors. Harry’s family is active in minor, junior and senior lacrosse with three grandsons playing in the NLL who continue to keep his love for the game alive and growing in Owen Sound!
