OTHER  NOTES

It is preferred that teams be made up of kids from the same club.  Realizing that it is difficult to filla team at this age level, it would be acceptable for example for two neighboring clubs to cometogether to form a team for this event.

If you have filled your team with club members and still need to fill a couple of holes in your line-up,it is permissible to have a few non-club members wrestler on your roster.  We would discourage coachesfrom putting together complete “all star” teams for this event.  This event will have some outstandingwrestlers on each team, but there will also be average and beginner wrestlers as well.  A complete“all star” team does not comply with the nature of this event.

If you are an individual and would like to be “placed” on a team that has an open weight class, feel free to fill in the application and mail it in along with $10.  Coach McCormick will contact you with details prior to the event.

Don’t shy away from this event just because you can’t fill all of the weight classes.  Most of the time, every team will have some forfeits in their line-up.  The spirit of this event is to get the kids matchesin a team setting.

Ankle bands will be used, so a wrestler will  be able to compete even if they don’t have a singlet.

Teams will be able to get exhibition matches for their “extra” wrestlers at the end of each round.  This format will be explained at the coaches’ meeting on the morning of the event.

FORMAT

We will use a POOL format.  The number of matches that a team wrestles will be determined by how

many teams enter this event.  We have been able to get most teams 5 dual meets over the duration of this event.  For example, if 8 teams compete, you should expect to have 5 dual meets for the day (3 in your pool and 2 cross over rounds).
