Dan Kleish Transfers to Nationally Ranked Salisbury

After completing an excellent first year at Misericordia Unversity, Dan has decided to tranfer to Salisbury University.  Located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Salisbury is a perennial National powerhouse in the NCAA D3.  The Sea Gulls made another NCAA World Series appearance finishing 2014 ranked #7 with a 37-9 record.  Dan was recruited by Coach Fleetwood out of high school but chose to play at Misericordia, where he experienced success as the #4 starter in the pitching rotation.  But Dan felt that Salisbury would be a better fit, and Coach Fleetwood has offered Dan an opportuniyt to join the Gulls pitching staff.  After a long and successful coaching career, Coach Fleetwood is retiring and will be succeeded by Coach Troy Brohawn, a former Salisbury pitching coach, NCAA D1 pitcher at Nebraska, as well as a MLB pitcher.  Given Coach Brohawn's backgroound, Dan is looking forward to playing for him.  Dan finished a successful YM career as the single season record holder in Innings Pitched, Complete Games, Shut Outs, and WHIP.  We wish Dan good luck as a member of the Salisbury Sea Gulls!

Justin Forktus Will Play for the Griffins

The Yardley Morrisville Riversharks extend a well deserved congratulations to Justin Forktus on his commitment to play baseball for head Coach Paul Murphy and the Gwynedd Mercy University Griffins!  After carefully evaluating several other D3 opportunities, Justin made his decision to commit to GMU based on its academic profile, proximity to home, and its successful baseball program.  The Griffins compete in the highly competitive Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), where they made it as far as the title game in 2014.  Justin has played in the YM organization since 2009, when he was a member of the Prep team.  He spent the next 2 years playing for the Jr team and he joined the Sr team in 2012 and has been a fixture at the top of the batting order ever since.  While he will play second base in college, Justin has played outfield, shortstop and second base for YM, filling in where ever the Riversharks needed him.  Justin had a successful high school career at Conwell Egan Catholic, where he was the starting varsity second baseman for the past few years.  The Gwynedd Mercy coaching staff looks forward to Justin joining the program and expects him to compete for playing time at second base.  The YM coaching staff looks forward to working with Justin during the 2014 season, and wishes Justin well as he transitions to college later this summer.

Jack Seibert Commits to Gettysburg College

The Yardley Morrisville Amercian Legion Riversharks are excited in congratulating Jack Seibert on his commitment to play baseball for Coach John Campo and the Gettysburg College Bullets!  Jack chose Gettysburg over several other schools based on its excellent academics and highly successfull baseball program.  The Bullets compete in the very competitive Centennial Conference and received votes in the 2014 pre-season polls.  Jack has been a member of the YM program since 2011, when he joined our Jr Legion team from the Newtown program.  As a 15 year old in 2012, Jack double rostered on the Jr and Sr teams, starting on both teams behind the plate and at first base.  Jack was a key contributor as the 2012 Jr team won the Boyertwon Regionals, earning a berth in the state tournament.  In 2013, Jack was a fixture behind the dish or at first base, leading the Sr team with a .381 batting average.  A varsity player at Holy Ghost since his sophomore year, Jack played a key role in leading Holy Ghost to the State AAA semifinal game in 2013.  Coach Campo is excited about Jack joining the Bullets roster and expects Jack will see innings as a first year behind the plate and possibly as a corner infielder.  The YM staff looks forward to having Jack back for the 2014 season.  Good luck to Jack at Gettysburg College!

The Yardley Morrisville American Legion organization extends a well deserved congratulations to Jake Goldberg on his recent commitment to play baseball for the next 4 years at Philadelphia University!  Jake signed a letter of intent during the early signing period, which will allow him to focus on the upcoming Pennsbury High School and YM Legion seasons.  Jake has been a member of the YM program since 2009, when he played on the YM Prep Team.  Jake spent the next 2 years contributing to the JR team and in 2012 and 2013, Jake was a fixture in the outfield, as well as a starting pitcher for the Sr Team. Jake will join former YM Alums Kenny McCormick and Joe Sabatino as a member of the NCAA Division II Rams Baseball team.  Coach Pat Horvath is excited about Jake joining the Rams pitching staff, where he believes Jake can contribute as a freshman.  The YM staff looks forward to having Jake back for the 2014 season.  Good luck to Jake at Philly U!
