PA Amercian Legion Moves to Wood Bats in 2013

Pennsylvania American Legion Baseball has decided that all divisions will use wood bats in 2013. This includes Senior (age 16-19), Junior (age 14/15), and Prep (age 13). Stayed tuned for more information on bat specifications. Keep in mind, this decision does not impact school baseball as PIAA still allows BBCOR approved bats.

Yardley-Morrisville "Sharks" Stun Central to Advance

YM used their "shark" rally caps to stun Central with a come-from-behind 7-6 victory to earn a rematch with Lower Macungie for the Regional title.  Timely hitting led by Andrew Gilbert in the bottom of the seventh inning tied the game at 6.  After YM loaded the bases in the bottom of the 8th, it was Andrew Gilbert at the plate once again.  With a full count, Gilbert drew a walk to knock in the winning run.  YM enjoyed an outstanding combined pitching effort from starter Cameron Jones and reliever Sam Paglione, who has pitched 9 scoreless innings in relief over the past 2 days.  YM (3-1) takes the field at 11:00 for a rematch with Lower Macungie.  A win pits both teams again in the Championship game at 2:00.  The Sharks will be out again!

Lower Macungie Hands YM First Defeat

After jumping out to an early 3 run lead, YM surrendered 4 runs resulting from shaky defense in the top of the second inning.  Lower Macungie tacked on 1 more run in the third inning to hand YM its first loss.  Cameron Jones takes the hill today as YM meets the York County League champs, Central, in a 1:00 match-up.  Winner moves on to Championship play on Wednesday...loser goes home.
