Woodlawn Football and Cheerleading: Welcome

Greetings from the Chairman: Jaamal Morant

It has been my honor and privilege to serve the Woodlawn community over the past three years as Chairman of the Board of the Football and Cheerleader Program. It is my hope and desire that each of you has benefited from your personal involvement with this notable Recreation and Parks Council entity. All of the Woodlawn Football teams and Cheerleader squads have been a great source of pride to me in the manner that they have represented the Program. On and off the field our young men and young ladies have exemplified characteristics of courage, integrity, fair play and good sportsmanship.
The most important aspects of our success over the years is the enjoyment that our families derive from supporting and encouraging our youth to strive for excellence in all that they do. Victory is measured in the lives of our young men and young ladies in other ways than merely running, catching, throwing and gymnastic ability. Victory is measured in terms of character building, elevation of self esteem and developing respect for self and others. Our young people are motivated to achieve higher levels of scholastic attainment in their educational pursuits as well.
As you know, it takes the "village" to raise children; I am grateful to all of the Football and Cheerleader Coaches, Team Moms, Board members and volunteers who give so unselfishly of their time and talents to ensure the success of our "Program". Many thanks to all of the parents, guardians, family members and friends who come out to consistently reinforce to our youth that they have value and worth. It is important to note that our young men and young ladies on the Football and Cheer teams and squads also have fun. Collectively, we must continue to praise them and give them a solid spiritual foundation. I thank God for all that we have been able to accomplish together.
