 4A State Tournament - Woodinville Finishes 2nd in State!

4A KingCo All-League

First Team:


Lauryn Rhinehart, Pitcher (Junior)

Lauryn was the #1 pitcher and played shortstop. She had 22 RBI’s on 35 hits in the #1 slot. She had 14 doubles and 4 home runs. Her BA was 0.412 and slugging was .718, with an OBP of .476. On defense Lauryn had 15 putouts 185 assists and only 3 errors.


Olivia Riener, First Base (Junior)

Olivia started at firstbase and played backup pitcher. She had the second highest RBI’s with 27 on 28 hits. Liv had had 5 doubles, 1 triple and led the team with 7 home runs batting .378 and was 2nd in slugging with .776, and an OBP of .527. Defensively she had 68 putouts, 28 assists and only 2 errors.


Paige Grover, Designated Player (Junior)

Paige started at short or outfield and led the team in hitting. She had 23 RBI's on 32 hits, with 8 doubles, 4 triples, and 4 home runs. Her BA was .416 and slugging was .779, the highest on the team. On defense she had 29 putouts, 23 assists, with only 2 errors.



Taylor Rhinehart, Utility Player (Junior)

Taylor played short, outfield or backup pitcher and hit in the #2 slot. Playing through injury she still had 15 RBI's on 21 hits, with 1 triple and 1 home run. Her BA was .381, slugging .472, and OBP .458. On defense she had 30 putouts and 30 assists with zero errors.

Dani Weir, Coach of the Year-Tie

Coach Weir was named KingCo 4A 1st Team Coach of the Year as well as the Seattle Times Star Times All Area Coach. She guided the Falcons to a third KingCo 4A regular-season title in her four-year tenure and fourth trip to state (where they finished 2nd). Falcon's ended 17-4 in regular season play, raising Weir’s career record to 87-16.

Second Team:


Jordyn Boyd, Catcher (Junior)

Jordyn started at catcher and outfield. She had the most RBI's on the team with 30 on 34 hits. She hit 6 doubles, 1 triple and 3 home runs with a BA of .442 and slugging of .662. Her OBP was 0.52. Defensively she had 156 putouts, 4 assists and 2 errors.


Megan Taketa, Second Base (Freshman)

Megan played second base and had 5 RBI's on 13 hits. Her BA was .361, slugging was .361 and OBP was .462. She had 32 putouts, 21 assists and 5 errors.


Honorable Mention

Katie Kelly, Outfield (Senior)

Katie played outfield and ran as a courtesy and pinch runner. She had 4 RBI's on 4 hits. She had 14 putouts with only one error.


Gina Wyner, Third Base (Junior)

Gina started at third base, she had 6 RBI's on 6 hits including 4 doubles and a triple. Her slugging percentage was .387 and OBP was .341. Defensively she had 18 putouts, 23 assists and 4 errors.


Erin McGrath, Outfield (Sophomore)

Erin played outfield and had 10 RBI's on 22 hits, including 2 doubles. Her BA was .309, slugging was .338 and OBP was .372. On defense she had 23 putouts, 1 assist, and 1 error.

Game 11: Woodinville (10) vs Bothell (0): Bothell Reporter: Woodinville (9-2, 7-1) has won five in a row, following a 1-0 loss to league-leading Skyline on March 31. Olivia Riener struck out six batters with no walks in a complete-game victory.

Game 8: Woodinville (16) vs Inglemoor (3): Woodinville Weekly: Falcons Feast on Inglemoor Pitching. The Varsity Falcon’s had another successful night over Inglemoor last night winning, 16-3 on the Vikings turf. Hits for the night included Lauryn’s 2 singles and a double (2 RBI’s), Taylor Rhinehart’s 2 singles (2 RBI’s), Jordyn’s 3 singles and a triple (1 RBI), Skylar Hein’s single, Olivia Riener’s amazing 2 home runs (6 RBI’s), and Erin McGrath’s 2 singles (2 RBI’s). Lauryn Rhinehart pitched and Jordyn Boyd backed her up behind the plate.

Game 7: Woodinville (11) vs Redmond (0): The Falcon's had a great home game last night against Redmond, started off by Jordyn Boyd's home run RBI. Other hits included a single by Taylor Rhinehart (RBI), a double and HR by Skylar Hein (3 RBI's), a single by Olivia Riener, a single and HR by Bailey Burger-Moore (3 RBI's), a single by Paige Grover, and 2 singles by Erin McGrath (RBI). Taylor pitched and Skylar caught, finishing with a wet but decisive 11-0 shutout against the Mustangs.

2016 Varsity and JV Ordering Site Information
The Woodinville Softball online store is open for ordering until March 13th. This is where players need to purchase their required items, noted as "recommended" in the online store. Fan wear is also available for family and friends. Orders will be delivered to the coach for disbursement. Anticipated delivery is 2 weeks after the store close date. 2016 Varsity and JV Rosters are Posted

The 2016 Varsity and JV Rosters have been posted. The Varsity roster has 15 players. Coaches welcome returning players Senior Katie Kelly, Juniors Jordyn Boyd, Paige Grover, Skylar Hein, Lauryn Rhinehart, Taylor Rhinehart, Olivia Riener, Gina Wyner and Sophomore Erin McGrath. Players moving up from the JV team are Junior Ali Sykes and Sophomore Sophie Hall. Incoming Freshman from Timbercrest Junior High are Bailey Burger-Moore, Mikaelie Sullivan, Megan Taketa and Molly Taketa.

The JV roster has 15 players. Coach Paul welcomes returning players Junior Anna Johnson, Sophomores Dorian Davidson, Chloe Lingen, Gabby Nyberg and Lina Waughman. New players to the JV team this year include Sophomores Morgan Barnes and Taryn Barnes, Freshman from Leota and Timbercrest Junior High include Jealyn Cowin, Carmella Crooks, Maddie Balyeat, Madison Beatty, Ryann Davis, Maria Ortiz, Linsy Pirollo, and Noelle Watson.

The Varsity team will start their season by hosting a Jamboree Saturday March 12th, followed with their first away game Monday March 14th at 4 pm at Todd Beamer. The JV team will start their season with a home game 4 pm Saturday, March 12th against Monroe.

Falcon Tryouts Coming Up 2/29-3/3

Woodinville Fastpitch tryouts begin Monday February 29th and go through March 3rd. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday tryouts are from 3-5 pm. Wednesday is from 1:30-3:30 pm. Players must be present all four days of tryouts and have turned in their completed sports packages by 2/12 to ensure time for review prior to tryouts.

2016 Preseason Player Meeting and preseason workouts in January
Mark your calendars for the PRESEASON PLAYER MEETING on WEDNESDAY JANUARY 27th at 3-4 PM in the WHS library. Every interested player (new and returning) should attend. The Varsity and JV Coaches will communicate their expectations for the season and players will have an opportunity to ask any questions they might have. All players should download the Player Questionnaire handout below, fill it out and bring it with them to the meeting. This meeting is for players only. There will be a Parents Meeting after tryouts. Coach Dani will be contacting Junior Highs to make an announcement for all Freshman but feel free to spread the word. There is an optional player-led workout the day of the meeting that will start at 2 pm. Players can get one hour of work in, then head up to the library together.

Optional Workouts:

Starting in January and running until the end of February there will be opportunities Monday and Wednesday EVERY week (rain or shine) for interested and returning players to prepare for the season.

Mondays are conditioning with Curtis Clay on the football field from 2:50 to 3:50 (approx. $10 a session to be paid at the end).
Wednesdays are on the softball field 2-4 pm. If it is too rainy, then the workout will move to the yoga room in the gym. These workouts are run by returning Varsity players. Be sure to bring both cleats and tennis shoes (and wear long sleeves for the outside workouts).

WHS Holiday Bazaar Saturday, December 5th

Help support WHS Fastpitch by visiting the Falcon Fastpitch Boosters booth at the WHS Holiday Bazaar. The Falcon Fastpitch booth will include player crafted Falcon (or Seahawk) colored fleece blankets, adorable reindeer cocoa, Santa mugs, and WHS ornaments as well as baked goods and other treats. All proceeds benefit WHS Fastpitch. The Holiday Bazaar is an annual tradition hosted by WHS ASB that brings the communtity together during the holiday season. This year the bazaar will include crafts, music, treats and other fun activities from 10 am to 4 pm at Woodinville High School.

Third Annual Falcon Winter Clinic

Thank you for making our Winter Clinics a Success!

We invite you to our 3rd annual Winter Clinics featuring the WHS Fastpitch Falcons- KingCo Champions! This event is open to ALL little league players-we welcome our surrounding little leagues to participate!

This is an indoor event, please wear athletic shoes (no cleats). Bring your glove, bat, and helmet (equipment will be available for all players) Fundamentals, drills, skills, and FUN with the Falcons- sign up today, registration is limited for each session.

Session 1 November 8th 10am-1pm @ WHS

Session 2 November 15th 10am-1pm @ WHS

Session 3 November 22nd 10am-1pm @ WHS

The event is FREE for all little leaguers. The Falcon Athletic Boosters will be collecting donations for this great group of players and all donations go to FAB, a 501(c)3 organization. For your $20 donation a t-shirt is included! For your $75 donation you get all 3 clinics (that's 9 hours of instruction!), a t-shirt, a headband, and a special gift. Go Falcons!
