Thursday, April 17 Jv plays Lake Washington...
Though we had 11 players on Tuesday the weather didn't want to cooperate. We were happy to play LW 3 innings and then the umpire called it quits.

Monday, April 14 JV plays Bothell...
The JV team came out ready to play with all 9 players since their first game. The first 3 1/2 innings looked great. The Falcons scored right away and were up 3-0. Bothell came back in the bottom of the second to tie it up. The Falcons answered back wtih 2 more runs and Bothell returned one run in the bottom of the 3rd. The fourth inning would be the challenge as Bothell played solid defense and it was 3 up 3 down. Bothell scored 5 runs in the 4th, 3 in the 5th and 5 in the 6th. The Falcons could only answer with 1 more run in the 5th.
The Falcons made excellent contact at the plate and had a few awesome "at bats." Bunt execution was phenomonal today and the outfielders were on their game! With some defensive work and better communication from the infield the Falcons will be competitors!

The JV team played Bothell at Pop Keeney today. We were sent with 8 players hoping the other team would loan us a player...unfortunately that was not the case. We were told that legally we could NOT start with 8 players and that every time my 9th batter had a "turn" it would be an automatic out. That being said, we were able to play with just two outfielders and ended up giving Bothell 3 automatic outs. The girls were positive and played well!
Alison Lambert pitched. Jade Baumann caught. The final score was Bothell 10 WHS 6.
Highlights: Kelsi Lakey 2-3, BB, 3 runs, 2SB
In the bottom of the 5th inning with Bothell bases loaded and two outs Christine Braun made a stellar catch in right field.
The JV girls executed some bunts and were aggressive on the basepaths.
Tuesday, March 18 Falcon JV wins first game of season, blanking Eastlake 10-0 Our JV girls came out swinging in their first game against Eastlake. They won 10-0 in 5 innings. Our Falcon future looks bright! |
