3nd Annual Woodland Run on the Green

 When: Friday, August 24^th with first race at 5:00 p.m. 

Where: Woodland High School Stadium and campus grounds. 

What: This is a unique high school cross-country opportunity to test the fitness of your athletes early in the season, when it is usually quite hot. Wanting to offer a flat course in a self contained environment using the same creative mindset that helped produced the Yolo County Championships, this early evening start time will guarantee that varsity races will run in the cooler dusk temperatures. Stadium and portable lights will safely illuminate the entire 2 mile course if darkness impedes vision. Run on a decomposed granite and a close cut grass path, this fun and spectator friendly course will offer teams a friendly environment for early season feedback for coaches and athletes alike. This will be a flat and fast course. Varsity races will be set up in a unique “match” format to help the early season “needs” of your program.   

Fun & Goodies: Medals to top finishers, mid race updates from press box, T-shirts, Full Snack Bar, Varsity and Frosh/Soph Divisions as well as an “open/coaches” race will highlight the evening event. Bring your school’s cheerleaders for a “Friday Night Lights” type adventure. Timing and finish results will be done using “chips” and serviced by Red Cap Timing – the same people who time the sub and section meet! Entries must be completed "online" at:
