Former LadyStar signs with Louisville, and Invited to 2005 USA Women's Basketball National Team Trials
Former Wisconsin LadyStar standout, Helen Johnson signed with the University of Louisville on Tuesday. Helen also was one of 57 players from around the USA to be invited to the 2005 USA Basketball Women's national team trials on May 19-22, 2005 (Click on the above Headline link to the Milwaukee Journal article).
Helen played her last 3 years of high school under the guide of Coach Gilliam, who spoke with Helen and several college coaches, prior to her deciding on attending Louisville.
The LadyStars program is very proud of Helen's progress, while being named one of the top Junior College players in the USA. She will be coming in this summer and providing skill development sessions with our current LadyStars players, along with our current Marquette University LadyStars Alumni, Tierra Shirley and Dawnisha Smith. Both Tierra and Dawnisha played with the LadyStars along with Helen for 2 years. We have also been blessed to add the services of 2nd Team All-Conference USA player, Christina Quaye from Marquette U. too.
Christina will work extensively with our post players, seeking to develop their post acumen.
