Grade-Based skills were established in August 2008.

The purpose of the grade-based skills are to help our program's participants improve their knowledge of our team's offensive and defensive systems as well work on their individual skills.

The goal is to be able to put together the pieces of individual work with the offensive and defensive concepts to help each player become a better player.

The program is also open to players not currently in the program.

• 1st Session (August 23-31): man-to-man principles on offense and defense.
• 2nd Session (Sept. 14 - Oct. 21): man-to-man principles on offense and defense.
• 3rd Session (November 1-23): man-to-man review / zone principles on offense and defense.
• 4th Session (December 26 - January 3): man-to-man principles on offense and defense.
• 5th Session (January 2009): Press defense and offense.
• 6th Session (February 2009): Zone defense and offense.
• 7th Session (March 2009): Review of December - February.
• 8th Session (April 2009): Trapping Defense.

• 9th Session (May 2009): - Emphasis is Out-of-Bounds Offenses.

• 10th Session (June 2009) - Form Shooting and Ball-Handling

October 2009 (Times TBA) - Transition Offense (8 Sessions Total; 3 From September):

• October 10: 8:00-10:00 AM for Group 2 at the Gateway YWCA.
• October 12: 6:00-8:00 for Group 1 & 2 at the Gateway YWCA.
• October 13: 6:00-8:00 for Group 1 & 2 at Gateway YWCA. (Completes September Skills for Group 2.)
• October 15: 6:00-8:00 for Group 2 at the Gateway YWCA.
• October 17: 8:00-10:00 AM for Group 1 at the Gateway YWCA. (Completes Sepember Skills for Group 1.)
• October 19: 6:00-8:00 for Group 2 at the Gateway YWCA.
• October 20: 6:00-8:00 for Group 1 at the Gateway YWCA.
• October 22: 6:00-8:00 for Group 1 at the Gateway YWCA.
• October 24: 11:00-1:00 for Group 1 & 2 at Bishop McGuinness HS.

November 2009: (Times TBA) - Putting It All Together) (7 Total Sessions in November for each group / 2 left over from October.)

• November 2: 6:00-8:00 for Group 2 at the Gateway YWCA.
• November 3: 6:00-8:00 for Group 1 at the Gateway YWCA.
• November 10: 6:00-8:00 for Group 1 & 2 at the Gateway YWCA.
• November 12: 6:00-8:00 for Group 1 & 2 at the Gateway YWCA.
• November 15: NO SKILLS
• November 21: 10:00-12:00 for Group 1 at the Gateway YWCA.
• November 23: 6:00-8:00 for Group 1 & 2 at the Gateway YWCA
• November 25: TBA
• November 28: TBA for Groups 1 & 2 at TBA
• Nomveber 29: 4:00-6:00 for Group 2 at Bishop McGuinness HS (Completes Year)

Times will be worked around tryouts, practices and tournaments.

Below is the tentative grade-based skills schedule for December:

• December 2nd at Gateway YWCA from 6:00-7:30.
• December 5th at Bishop McGuinness from 12:00-1:30 and 1:30-3:00.
• December 7th at Gateway YWCA from 6:00-7:30.
• December 9th at Gateway YWCA from 6:00-7:30.
• December 12th at Bishop McGuinness from 12:00-1:30 and 1:30-3:00.
• December 13th at the Gateway YWCA from 3:15-4:45.
• December 14th at the Gateway YWCA from 6:00-7:30.
• December 16th at the Gateway YWCA from 6:00-7:30.
• December 22nd at Bishop McGuinness from 5:30-7:00 & 7:00-8:30.

Our program is now offering individual skills work again, beginning in May/June 2009.
