2010 Season Information...
Information for all our 2010 teams and programs will begin to post on this page during the fall / winter seasons of 2009.
Keep checking back for information on tryout dates, teams offered, potential tournament schedules, coaches for teams, and much more.
2010 Age Determining Dates:
- 9-and-under: Born January 1, 2000 or after or 4th grade born January 1, 1999 or after.
- 10-and-under: Born January 1, 1999 or after or 5th grade born January 1, 1998 or after.
- 11-and-under: Born January 1, 1998 or after or 6th grade born January 1, 1997 or after.
- 12-and-under: Born January 1, 1997 or after or 7th grade born January 1, 1996 or after.
- 2014 E & N.E. Team: Born January 1, 1996 or after or 8th grade born January 1, 1995 or after.
The above teams will play in AAU Regional and State Tournaments and, should they qualify, AAU Nationals.
Descriptions of other teams that will be offered for the 2010 Season are listed below. Teams that have "292 TEAM" posted in their description are 292 Teams.
292 Teams play in college-exposure events and must have members of their team (some, not all) that are in the 292 Program to play in these events.
Participants on our 292 Teams do not have to be in the 292 Program, however only those in the 292 Program will receive evaluation forms from those events.
Information on our 292 Program can be found on the "292 - Travel Team, Skills and More" Page.

Frequently Asked Questions...2010 Season.
 | | | | Playing More Than One Sport? |
|
1) What if my daughter plays another sport (soccer, softball, etc...) and can't make every basketball practice, how do we handle that? Answer: We encourage players, especially 12-and-under players, to play more than one sport. The majority of kids do not know what they would like to play or what sport they are good at yet (12-and-under ages) and our program does not want to limit kids to just one sport, or keep them from exploring new activities. Do understand, however, that our organization is a basketball program and if your daughter misses practice or a game(s), she'll have to catch up to the others so that she can play.
2) What if my daughter has school sport conflicts or school-related activities that may interfere with Stealers' Basketball Practice? Answer: You always, 100% attend your school-related activity first. It is the same policy with missing a practice or a game as above, she'll have to catch-up or be able to keep-up with the rest of the team in order to get playing time.
3) Can you define your different level teams? Answer:
- Our 9, 10, 11, 12-and-under spring teams practice & play January-June and then, if they qualify, will play in a national tournament either in June or July. There are also fall season teams for these teams, but the team roster typically changes as these teams are seasonal.
- Our year-round teams practice and play March-October with our teams with high school age players taking the month of June off, and then go with a light practice schedule in August. Those with non-high school age players practice in June.
- Our 7 Month Teams & 3 Month Teams are run through our 292 Program. The majority of the tournaments they play in are college-exposure events. The 7 Month Team stays together from March-October (with June being off), while the 3 Month Team is a seasonal team running March to Mid-May, then Mid-May to July, then August-Mid-October.
- Our Stealers Too!!! Program is for middle or high school age teams (typically 8th grade and up) that want to play locally, and not play in college-exposure or national tournaments. This is probably the best option for those who would like to keep their 9-12-and-under AAU teams together as they move closer and into high school years.
4) Why is the Stealers Too!!! Team better for keeping (at least the core if not all of) our 9-12-and-under Team together than a 292 College-Exposure Team? Answer: The 292 College-Exposure Teams are for those who are serious about wanting their daughter to be on the best teams possible with the best players available. The 292 Teams are set-up to help our players learn to play with different players / teams in our program from year-to-year while trying to keep them under the same system (very similar to how a player would experience from freshman-senior years of college). No future college player plays with the same set of girls every year in college, and having to learn how to adjust and work with new players, and (sometimes a) new coach, while still trying to perform at a high level is something that will give college coaches an added trait to evaluate when viewing players (and a preview of the type of kid they might be adding to their team). Plus, the internal team competition keeps players hungry to get better which is always a good thing and leads to better external results. The Stealers Too!!! Team is not a college-exposure team and since there is no qualifying for AAU Sanctioned Events (Regional, State or Nationals), it makes this team the better for those looking to keep a team (or its' core) together.
5) What paperwork needs to be turned in for my daughter? Answer: Once the forms are posted below for each team, decide which one you would like your daughter to tryout for. Fill out the form and return with the "Intent To Tryout Form" which is posted below. Please read the instructions associated with the "Intent To Tryout Form" carefully.
6) Why do you require at least one or two 292 Members to be on each travel team for that team to be able to play in a college-exposure event? Answer: 292 Members have been through meetings, seminars and clinics provided by the 292 Program, and should have a better understanding of what the rules, goals, and expectations are from the (292) program. From experience, we have had more issues with non-292 Members at travel team events with their expectations at events and how they have conducted themselves on the bench, in the stands and elsewhere around the playing facilities. 292 Members, again, have been at least prepped for certain things at these events and have been good at helping others from game-to-game and tournament-to-tournament.

2010 Buddy / Mentor Program.
One of the more popular programs we have, the Buddy / Mentor System is designed to partner up a younger player in our organization with an older player in our organization.
The program's goal is to introduce our younger players to the older ones and vice-versa so that the younger one can begin to see what she is working towards and allow the older ones to set the proper example on and off the court to the next generation of players.
Buddy and Mentor Assignments will be announced via email once all of our teams are selected.
Grade-Based Skills Information.
The purpose of the grade-based skills are to help our program's participants improve their knowledge of our team's offensive and defensive systems as well work on their individual skills.
The goal is to be able to put together the pieces of individual work with the offensive and defensive concepts to help each player become a better player.
