Are you a member of any athletic conference?
We are members of KCAA and KSHSAA approved (Kansas State High School Activities Association).

Who do we play against?
Against other homeschool programs, private and public schools. Our desire is to play against the best competition available. We participate in National Homeschool Tournaments for both volleyball and basketball for post season play.

What sports do we offer?
Junior High and High School Girls’ Volleyball
Junior High and High School Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball

How much does it cost?

Basketball: JH -- $235, HS -- $285

(Fee includes a medical and general liability coverage for each player)

$50 discount on basketball fee if you played volleyball

What if I have more than one child playing?
The first child is full price; each subsequent child is $25 less.

Where will games be played?
Our home court is Farha Sport Center at South Branch YMCA, 3405 S. Meridian
Wichita, KS 67207.

Are practices mandatory and how often do you practice?
Because this is a competitive sports program, practices are required. During the pre-season, practices are several times a week. During the season, depending on the game schedule, there will be 1-2 practices. Practices are subject to the coaches’ discretion.

Are there any extra costs?
Gas and food money will be necessary when the team travels out-of-town for an away game. For all volleyball and basketball teams, there are out-of-town games and tournaments that are overnigthers or last for several days.

What about uniforms?
The Defenders will supply a uniform that will be turned in at the end of the season.

What do I need to do to participate?
Read the Code of Ethics and Standards for Participation; fill out an application and medical release form for each athlete and pay your fee.
