Wichita Cowboys Football: Cheerleading
Welcome to another year of cheerleading for the Cowboys. I'd like to inform you the expectations and requirements for your daughter this year. Registration for the year is $100.00 due by August 20, 2005. If your registration money is not turned in by that date your daughter may not have her cheerleading uniform in time for the pep rally, which is on September 9th. As many of you know we are doing the cookie dough fund raiser again this year. However, you may choose not to sell the cookie dough, which is a requirement of 15 tubs by taking the $50.00 buyout clause. This is in addition to the $100.00 registration fee. Our fundraiser will kick off the August 11th. I will have more details for you at time. The full $150.00 or the $100.00 + 15 tubs of cookie dough must be turned in before your daughter will be allowed to cheer in the first game. Payments are accepted if you are not able to pay the money in full. Cheerleaders will be receiving a T-shirt, bloomers, socks, and their uniforms this year.
I am asking all parents to please have your daughters here on time. We start our stretching right away along with our running. Have your daughter dressed appropriately for practices. No flip-flops, jean shorts, or jeans. The girls are asked to wear either white or blue tennis shoes with their uniforms. Some teams will be going out of town to play in games. It is up to individual coach on whether she decides to take her team out of town. No parents will be allowed to coach the girls on out of town trip. All expenses on these trips is paid for by the parent. Your coach will inform you as she receives details on such information.
All cheerleaders are required to cheer for their own age group. If your daughter is in 2nd grade, she must cheer for the 2nd grade. Each grade, 2nd thru 6th, may have 2 mascots. The mascots must be in Kindergarten or 1st grade. There are no mascots for the 7th or 8th grade.
THERE WILL BE ONE FINAL FITTING FOR UNIFORMS. EACH MOM IS REQUIRED TO BE HERE FOR THAT FITTING. If you are not present, we will use our best judgment on how we feel the uniform looks and fits. There will not be any accommodations made if you are not present and we have made the decision for you. It is my opinion that you are not there for that fitting, you have no reason for complaint.
If your daughter is going to miss a practice or going to be late, please give your coach a call and let them know. If there is not a phone call received, your daughter will be required to run extra laps for being late and sit out some of the game for missing practice. I know that the girls cannot drive themselves to practice so if you are running late because of work or other siblings, please let your coach know by calling ahead of time. This will spare your daughter the extra laps of running. She still will be required to do her stretching and running. Your daughter will be excused from practice if she is ill or has a school required event. However, parents you need to call and let your coach know your daughter will not be there before the practice that she will not be attending. Football players are required to be at practice to play, cheerleaders will be required to be at practice to cheer. WE WILL CHEER IN THE RAIN! Football players play in the rain, cheerleaders cheer in the rain. If the game is canceled your coach will call you.

Wichita Cowboys Parents Cheerleading 08/24
This is a reminder to let you know the last day to pay your $100.00 registration was last Friday. However, I know that some of you have made arrangements with me for another day. Unless you talk to David or myself before Friday, all money must be turned in. The last day that our seamstress will be here to measure girls is on this Friday as well. If you have not been measured and will not be here to get measured on that day you will not be getting a uniform. All fundraisers must be turned in to your coach on Friday by 6:00pm. There is not exception to turning in your fundraiser. If you do not turn in your fundraiser you must take the buyout which is $50.00. The $50.00 due date is Wednesday, September 7th. If your money is not turned in you will not allowed to cheer in the pep rally or the first game.
On Friday, September 2nd, will be final fitting for uniforms. ALL PARENTS must be here for that fitting with your daughter. After that day there will no adjustments made for your daughters uniforms, so you must be here.
We are out of T-shirts for the girls and they will not be here for 2 weeks. David will be ordering more on Friday, August 26th. The reason for this is because we are going to be ordering just for the girls who have paid their registration fees by this day. If you are not paid by this day you will not be able to be a cheer as your name will be scratched from the roster.
This is very important, PARENTS, please be here to pick up your daughters 10 minutes early. Practice is over at 7:30 so be here by 7:20. If you daughter younger than a fourth grader, you need to be here for the entire practice or make sure there is a guardian here to watch your child. The coaches for these younger girls are not babysitters, they are coaches. There are to many little ones out here and it makes it hard to watch all of them. We want the girls to be safe and know that when we dismiss from practice that they are in responsible hands.
