The Informational Parent Meeting for Westview Girls Lacrosse 2008-2009 Season has been scheduled for 7:00 PM on Monday, December 1st, in Room D115-117 at Westview.

 The Coaching Staff and Steering Committee Board will be present at this meeting to answer all questions pertaining to the Westview Girls Lacrosse program - pre-season conditioning and play, try-outs, lacrosse equipment, volunteer opportunities, and more.

Please plan on attending if your daughter is interesting in playing lacrosse in the upcoming 2008-2009 season.

The Westview Girls Junior Varsity Lacrosse team had a great showing at the 2008 Surf, Sun & Stix Invitational on April 5th.

The team won their pool in the Junior Varsity Division - Gold Bracket and continued on to win their semifinal game in order to face Torrey Pines in the Championship Game!!! It was a great game with Torrey Pines scoring 8 goals to Westview's 6 goals.

Congratulations Junior Varsity on a great tournament finish!!!

Many thanks to Terry and Tim Duncan for hosting the March 7th Parent Social. The night was a great success with all the parents who participated enjoying the great company, good food and beverage.

The Parent Social proved to be a great opportunity to meet other parents and support the sport of girls lacrosse at Westview.

Our first lacrosse games of the season are scheduled to be played at Westview on Tuesday, March 11th, versus Grossmont High School!

Junior Varsity plays at 6:00 PM followed by Varsity at approximately 7:30 PM. Games will be played on the turf in the stadium at Westview. Please note that per our Coach's request, all fans are asked to sit on the home side (concrete bleachers).

Wear your Black and Gold, and come out and support the Westview Girls Lacrosse teams!!!

The Westview Girls Lacrosse program is hosting a Parent Social on Friday, March 7th, at 6:00 PM.

We encourage you to attend to meet other parents who will be at your side at our lacrosse games, cheering on our daughters towards a great season. It is a great opportunity to have a night out either solo or with your significant other, and form some friendly bonds that can be carried beyond the season of lacrosse.

As parents of Westview Girls Lacrosse team members, you are invited to attend the Westview Spring Sports Parent Night and Westview Girls Lacrosse Registration Night on Thursday, February 28th, at 6:30 PM in the gym. The Westview Spring Sports Parent Night is for parents only and is hosted by our Athletic Director, Chris Carter.

Immediately following the Spring Sports Night, the Westview Girls Lacrosse parents will break-out to Room B106 (adjacent to the gym) for the Westview Girls Lacrosse Registration Night. The Westview Girls Lacrosse Registration Night will consist of a parent meeting (which will include 2008 season information and expectations by Coach Kelsey Grover), player registration and fee payment, uniform deposit and distribution, parent volunteer sign-ups, Parent Social information, Spirit Wear information, and 2008 Season DVD pre-sale information.

Please note that this will be the only time team uniforms will be issued. If you cannot attend Registration Night on Feb. 28th due to your work schedule or a previous commitment, please email Anna Maria Rogalski to make other arrangements.

For all girls interested in trying-out for the 2008 Westview Girls Lacrosse season, there will be a Parent and Player Informational Meeting on Tuesday, February 5th, at 7:00 PM at Westview in Room D115/D117.

Westview Lacrosse Coaches and Steering Committee Board Members will be present to answer any and all questions regarding the program and the sport of lacrosse.

US Lacrosse will be conducting a U.S. Women's National Team clinic for high school girls’ lacrosse players. This clinic is an excellent opportunity for girls to learn from the best players in the United States. The clinic serves as a fundraiser for our U.S. Women's National Teams programs and local host chapters of US Lacrosse.

The cost of the clinic is $55 and space is limited and each participant must also be a current member of US Lacrosse. The clinic will be held at Pacific Ridge School on Saturday, February 2nd, 12:30 - 3:00 PM.

TRAIN WITH CHAMPIONS

Amonte Sports and Womenslax.com have established New Wave lax clinics. New Wave clinics are based on the Amonte Sports Camp model, arguably one of the most successful instructional lacrosse camps in the nation. New Wave Clinics will give players a chance to work with some of the nation’s top current and former collegiate lacrosse players. Players will learn the newest stick skills and concepts. The goal of New Wave Clinics is to teach and inspire kids to play lacrosse across the nation. The Pre-Season tour will give its participants an edge over the competition going into the 2008 season.

Are you interested in playing girls lacrosse? Want to get a head start on conditioning? Now is your chance to get in shape for the upcoming tryouts.

Please join us on Mondays and Wednesdays to work on Endurance, Speed, Strength and Stick Work.

Please bring a lacrosse stick, mouth guard, running shoes, goggles, and water.  Some lacrosse sticks are available to be borrowed during the conditioning clinic for those new players interested in the sport.
