After a year, he transferred to Louisiana's Southern A & M where he focused his athletic ability on the baseball field. He was drafted by the Angels and has begun his rise in the minors. In 2004, he played rookie level ball and hit .297. The next year he advanced to the Class A Cedar Rapids team and hit .274. In 2006 and 2007, he has played with the Class A Advanced division. He was injured for approximately two months during the 2007 season but is well and will soon be reporting back to camp.
