Westside Wildcats Announce Scholarship
Westside Wildcats Announce Scholarship
The Westside Wildcats Youth Baseball Association is excited to announce that it will be awarding a scholarship every year beginning with the graduating class of 2013. The scholarship, in the amount of $500, will be awarded to a graduating senior to be used towards college expenses. To qualify for the scholarship, the senior must have played for at least two years with the Wildcats, volunteered in a number of capacities within the organization, and continued to play baseball in high school. An application requesting basic information, such as length of time played with the Wildcats, and coaches played for etc. will be required as well as an essay stating what the Wildcats has meant to you and your development as a community member and a ball player. A committee of at least one Wildcats Board member, at least 6 parents in the association and at least one recognizable community member will determine who is awarded the scholarship. Anyone interested in serving on this committee to determine the first recipient in 2013 can contact Melissa Stenwick at mstenwick@hotmail.com.
