Go West Sacramento Little League!   Baseball has such great memories. One of my best players was a 12 year old pitcher I had back in the 1980's who would take a miniature 'GI Joe' action figure to the mound and place it next to his feet when he pitched (for good luck I suppose--we did win a title that year). But the weird part is that the other teams just laughed. Nobody ever complained about the toy.

Have a terrific season!
Best regards from Rick Fishman, author of Sandlot Summit, the funniest youth baseball story ever.

While it is completely understandable that you may be frustrated by the League, to come on the web with no name and no contact info isn't fair. The board members are all known, and thier emails are available, and Stephanie has taken the time to reply and offer to help. I too have felt frustrations in the past, and have had to be reprimanded when my emotions overran my common sense. However, you must remeber this: The board who you are chastising is the same board responsible for the success of this league. Whatever internal issues, struggles and alliances that exist, either good or bad, have to be set aside so we can see that one thing happens every year......hundreds of kids get the chance to play baseball. They play on well coached teams, on well maintained fields, with quality uniforms, equipment, and umpires. (Noteably that big Guy who did the AA games last season :)....)

Take the board up on their offer to hear you out, face to face. Anonymous shots taken on the internet don't do anybody any good.

Hi Rookey:

I am very sorry about the concerns you have with the West Sacramento Little League Board. First of all, let me start of by saying that the Board Members are all volunteers and we all have a full time job. So if things aren’t done in a timely manner, such as payments, I sincerely apologize.

If you feel that an injustice has been done I would hope that you would contact a Board member. If we are unaware of what is happening we are unable to make the necessary corrections to fix a problem.

Our job first and foremost is to bring the game of baseball to the children in our community. While we can’t make every player and parent happy all of the time, we are definitely open to suggestions and assistance in making our program stronger.

I hope that we can work together to solve the issues you are having with our league. If you are willing to discuss your concerns, please contact me directly either by email at Pridmore@wavecable.com or by calling me on my cell phone at 213-0599. If you prefer to speak with another board member, I urge you to click on our board page link to get their contact information.

I understand your concerns about anonymity and confidentiality, but that type of communication rarely rectifies an ugly situation, as we are unable to truly get to the root of the problem.

If we don’t know the problem, we can’t fix it. Please call me.

Thank you,

Stephanie Pridmore

I am shocked the way that the little league is run. The politics, the who you know, who wants what kid on there team, pulling kids off one team so they can be on another because of you are, the umpiring and what it takes to actually get paid. It is all so disggusting.
I can not believe this is how things are being run. What is the point of have a Board when you cant even talk to them, there is no privacy or confidentiality.
West Sac LL Board....you need to get it together.

I am very disapointed to find that my son falls short of the age requirement by 9 days and is not being allowed to play t-ball. My son is very devastated to find that he is unable to play t-ball this year. I wish the board would reconsider. Thank you.

Thank you son.
The thrills you have given me over the past 5 years are far more than any parent is supposed to get; if you never strike anyone again or if you never hit another home run again, you already have made me more proud than I ever expected.
Remember that catch you made while falling on first base when you were 8....and shutting down the A's on that wild night game....parents were partying that night because of that performance..and you were only 8!
We have worked soo hard to get to where you are now; the grounders, the pitching and especially the hitting...you have earned every bit of your success.
Ahhhh, but that first home run....it validated all those hours at the tee and the solohitter and those hours watching baseball videos...do you believe me now? I know you do.
As an 11 yo you led the league in HR's and you have defended that title as a 12yo in addition to being THE dominant pitcher in the league. All this while showing a class and attitude far beyond your young years.
All your hard work and accomplishments we'll serve you the rest of your life as a base for your human development.
Thank you son for making me the proudest dad in West Sacramento!!

**We Need your help ** As most of you know, West Sacramento Little League is hosting the Sectional Tournament, which runs Thursday (7/20) through Tuesday

spent countless hours at the ballpark already and are volunteering to work more, however we still need your help.

add your name where there is a blank line and send back to me ASAP. And please forward this email to those on your email list who
may want to help. If I sound desperate, it’s because I am.
