Letter From The President

Thank you for a successful 2008-2009 WLMHA Season from the entire West London Board!  We are excited about the upcoming year.

Our registration numbers were up 8% to 930.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our West London volunteers.  All of our coaches, trainers, managers, conveners, tournament volunteers, board members and parents who continue to show proper conduct at the arena and encourage their children in a positive and supportive manner.

I would also like to thank the many businesses that sponsor our teams and tournaments.  I would ask you to keep them in mind and return the support whenever possible.  Thank you to the Byron Optimist who sponsored our HL Tournament for the 2nd straight year.

We iced 64 teams this year from Tyke to Midget.

We have the best Tyke Program, thank you Brent Landers and Donna Clark for a great year and FunFest.

Our House League Teams had a very successful year.  All our teams were very competitive.  Our Novice WC team won the City A Finals, and we also had 6 other CHL Champions W41, WC4, W33, W35, W45 and WC8:

Our Forest City had League and/or Playoff Winners from Minor Novice 1, Novice 1, Minor Atom 1, Minor Atom 2, Minor Peewee 2, Peewee 1, Minor Midget 1 and Minor Midget 2.  Minor Bantam 1 and Midget 1 both won Bronze.

Some of the highlights of the year were:

  • Our 5th annual “Breakfast with the Board” had over 250 people come out.
  • Our Volunteer Appreciation Night at Nichols Arena. Great food from McGinnis Landing and Prizes from Source.
  • We reached all of our goals in regards to ice times and practice schedules for all 64 teams for 2008-2009.
  • Our Three tournaments, House League, Forest City and Tyke were all huge successes.
  • Hockey Development was a success with a large number of the players taking advantage of the program. We also ran goalie clinics through the Goalie Angle.
  • Most important we provided a safe, healthy and respectful environment for our kids to play minor hockey.
Thank you all again!
Tim Owen, WLMHA President
