Team Rules

So that there is no confusion in terms of what is expected of all student-athletes playing Whitesboro Varsity Baseball, the following rules are in effect for the entire season. Please be aware of these rules, as each one has a specific purpose for being in place (i.e., to protect you, the team, and our image):

1. Be on time for all practices, games, and team functions.
2. Give 100% effort at all times... for practice or games. Nothing short of 100% is acceptable.
3. Baseball is secondary to school. All players must maintain a good standing in the classroom, both academically as well as behaviorally.
4. We represent not only our team, but the school and our community. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. This also applies to travel to and from games, as well as overnight trips (i.e., Myrtle Beach).
5. Alcohol use is strictly prohibited. Violation of this rule will result in serious compromise of your status within the baseball program as well as school.
6. The use of any tobacco product will not be tolerated.
7. The attendance policy outlined in the student/athlete handbook will be fully observed.
8. All players are expected to be involved in the maintenance of the field and surrounding areas (dugouts, bull pen, bleachers) after all practices and games. Team captains will be the last to leave and will ensure that all tasks have been accomplished.
9. Any and all problems, personal or otherwise, need to be communicated to the coaching staff as soon as possible. This will allow for the quick resolution to a problem before it escalates to the team level.
10. RESPECT ALL... your coaches, captains, teammates, opponents, umpires, and fans.

How To Be A "Good Sport" Parent
- Never interfere with your child's coach... you must be willing to turn over responsibility to the coach during a game or practice
- Never shout instructions or criticism to any player while they are playing
- Remain in the spectactor areas
- Never make abusive comments to players, parents, umpires, or coaches of either team
- Express interest, encouragement and support to both your child as well as his teammates
