| Hello! I stumbled on your Waynesboro Tigers site while searching for Tigers memorabilia online. I was surprised to see that the Tigers had regrouped and are playing again. My dad, Frank Koons (now 83), was a member of the Tigers from about 1947 to 1951 (have to check on those dates for accuracy). Can't recall what position he played off the top of my head but he was really into it at the time! He and my mom were dating/engaged at that time so she saved nearly every program and newspaper clipping about the team which I have here in a scrapbook that she put together. He also still has the Tigers yearbooks which were published every year for the players, as well as a Tigers jacket (or sweater, depending on the year) from every year he played. When I was back visiting Waynesboro last year, my mom gave me a gold pendant in the shape of a football commemorating the 1947 championship which my dad gave to her back then...a very nice souvenir from the early Tigers days! My folks still live in Waynesboro and I'm sure my dad would love to know if there is ever another Tigers reunion. If any of you ever hear of that, perhaps one of you could contact me here so I could let him know. I'm sure he'd really appreciate it! Keep up the good Tigers work!
