The Wavemakers is a non-profit swim team with swimmers from the ages of 6 to 18 from Wilton, Durant and the surrounding area. They are a satellite program of the Muscatine YMCA swim club. The Wavemakers compete in the YMCA winter swim meet competitions, most of which are held at the Carver Pool Complex at the Muscatine High School. The meets are usually held on Saturday mornings beginning in late November. The Wavemakers practice at the Wilton swimming pool on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The Wavemakers also hold a 1-hour parents meeting on the first Sunday of the month during the swim season. This meeting is open to all parents to make decisions as the season progresses.
