WATERFORD YOUTH FOOTBALL AND CHEER
Zero Tolerance Policy
Due to the growing number of sever incidents of parental violence and misbehavior in youth sports, Waterford SaberCat Youth Football and Cheer (WYFC) has instituted a ZERO Tolerance Policy regarding violations by members, players, parents and spectators. The following rules and regulations have been adopted:
- I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, cheerleaders, coaches and officials at every game, practice and WYFC or League event.
- I will place the emotional and physical well being of my child and all children in the WYFC Organization ahead of my personal desire to win.
- I will insist that my child play in a safe healthy environment.
- I will insist that there will be no showing of displaying of gang colors, numbers, or tattoos at any WYFC event including but not limited to practice and games, by player, parents, or spectators.
- I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
- I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and will refrain from their use at WYFC events.
- I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child and remember that the game is for the youth and not for the adults.
- I will ask my child to treat other players, cheerleaders, coaches, fans, and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability - and I will do the same.
- I will help my child enjoy the youth sports experience by doing what I can- such as providing transportation to and from practices and events, helping keep equipment clean, being a respectful fan, and volunteering for WYFC events as needed.
- I understand that only authorized personnel with appropriate ID card, the chain gang, and the team checkers will be allowed within the roped off areas of the field.
- I understand that at any Waterford SaberCat game, home or away, practice, team event, or League event or competition, any adult who 1) verbally abuses; 2) attempts to intimidate; 3) is flagrantly rude; 4) or cannot control their language or actions with an official, coach, or WYFC volunteer will be asked to leave the event. He or she will receive a warning regarding their behavior. His or her child(ren) may be immediately removed from the event.
- I also understand that any adult that commits a second offense will be banned from WYFC events for the remainder of that season.
- I understand that any adult who physically* assaults an official, coach, or WYFC volunteer will be banned from WYFC and their child(ren) may be removed from the WYFC program for one year from the date of offense. After one year, the parent may apply for re-instatement of his or her child(ren). If the adult commits a second offense, he or she may be banned from WYFC and the child(ren) may be permanently removed from the WYFC. *The term Physically assaults includes, but is not limited to hitting, slapping, pushing, spitting, kicking, or striking in any way with any part of the body or any physical implement.
- I agree to abide by and respect the Code of Conduct set by the League at all times.
