updating scores/results

cleaning up if any spills happen

2008 Season

We'll soon be starting our season for volleyball and I'm looking forward to working with all the returning players along with the incoming Freshman.  My first season as head coach was exciting but also a very big learning curve for myself.  I want to thank you for being a part of our Washington volleyball program.  I hope you had fun this past season and also developed your volleyball skills further.

All levels played better as the season went by.  With the varsity we had a pretty good year finishing 2nd in the conference at 5-3 and 12-14 overall.  We beat Mt Pleasant for the 1st time in almost 12 years and did it twice!  I truly believe we have some of the best athletes in the area and I genuinely want to see our Washington girls at the top of our conference and become a program that everyone looks up to off and on the court.

I understand that players obviously are very busy with multiple sports and family events among other activities.  If you want to get to the next level at least we need to put in extra effort out of season starting with open gyms.  In the past we’ve had random turnout with sometimes only a couple girls showing up because of conflicts with other sports and work.  I will do whatever it takes to make the open gyms and such arranged so that you can work around your busy schedules. All it takes before season is a few hours a week working on your skills to be ready by seasons start.  My hope is that I can meet with our coaches and players and setup a schedule after school ends to allow you to continue with your normal schedules but also start working on your volleyball skills.

I’m also always available to do one on one skill sessions and have some past college players who are willing to come and help teach you as a group or individually.  I’ve also arranged to scrimmage some local schools anytime during the off-season if the girls would be interested.

If you have any questions or want more information please let me know as I’m always available.  My cell is 319-461-6002.
