Nine years, hundreds of games, dozens of t-shirts and trophies, pins and parades and thousands of water bottles later, we in the words of one of our own “turn the page, finish the chapter and close the book” on this edition of the Washington Hurricanes.

Back in 2001, Mark and I we were given the opportunity to coach a team by Tina at a time when the game of fast pitch softball was just emerging in our area. As a young 10U team, a 7 am warm-up in a cold rain at Sprinker Fields in Tacoma was our “baptism” into what would become our way of life. Who knew?

The years between then and now have been full of so much. The friendships we all have made, the relationships developed, the amazing people we have all met, the places we have been, the obstacles we have all overcome, the challenges, the losses, the victories and rewards have all helped to shape and define ourselves and our families.
