Chiefs Football Team: Welcome

HISTORY

Founded by CEO Richard Myles, the Washington Chiefs football program provides an opportunity for athletic participation that does not ordinarily exist apart from college or professional sports.  The Chiefs games also offer affordable entertainment for local community residents.

The Washington Chiefs was established in 1993 as a 501 (c ) (3) non-profit organization specializing in youth and community service.  The Chiefs football program has attained National status for the past four years as minor league powerhouse.  Since its inception, hundreds of children and adults have been touched by its social service and athletics programs giving the Chiefs the recognition of being “more than just a football team.”

As its 16th season begins, the chiefs are noted for having won the Minor Football League (MFL) championship six times.  The Chiefs, along with nearly five hundred other minor league teams across the county, give local athletes the opportunity to advance to the next level (NFL, Canadian League and Arena Football).  Phoenix Cardinal, Eric Swann, progressed from the minor league roster to a successful career in the NFL proving that with the right conditioning, training and exposure, other minor league players can achieve this goal.

The Chiefs had four players in the Washington Redskin camp, one in the Dallas Cowboy camp, five at the Arena football, one in the European Football League and one signed with the XTreme Football League.
