Warriors Wrestling: Weekly Results
The Lehigh and Navy teams participated in the Southern Mat Club Ram Tough Tournament in Oakland, MD (Garrett County) over the weekend. The Warriors finished 3rd place in the team race.

The Warriors White team wrestled against the Warriors Purple team on Saturday January, 20. Pins by Nathan Crouse, John Pfaff, Sammy Nehme, and Brenden Cline. Wins by decision for Chris Walsh, Jacob Morey, Cole Murphy, Ben Pfaff, Jameson Little, and Brennan Deibel.
The Warriors White also wrestled FSK on the 20th. Pins by Anthony Maroulis, Nathan Crouse, John Pfaff, and Sammy Nehme. Wins by decision for Brennan Deibel, Mitchell Bowman, Nathan Crouse, Chris Walsh, Brenden Cline, and Ben Pfaff. Great job Warriors!
Weekend of 12 and 13 January 2013
Warriors Lehigh 51 - Perry Hall 40 at Century High School. The Warriors Lehigh team resumed their regular season after the holiday season with a home tri-meet. The lightweights opened up an insurmountable lead and the team hung on for the win against an improving Perry Hall team. Ryder Eckenbarger, Trent Brauer, Matt Lawrence, Shawn Rothstein, Sean Scott, Brad Walsh, Jake Griffin, and Jake Mackenzie all pinned their opponents. In the match of the day, Matty Walsh scored a 5-2 win over his highly touted opponent. Jake Mackenzie was named outstanding wrestler for his big upset win.
Warriors Navy vs McKim and Middle River. On Sunday January 13, the Warriors Navy Travel wrestling team hosted the squads from McKim and Middle River. In the first match vs. McKim, the Warriors beat the visiting team 51-33. Pinning their opponents: Carson Fitzgerald, Harrison Reed, Nate Brenner, Dylan Fitzgerald, Billy Bentley, Matt Haerbig, and Cam Werner. Earning wins by points were Reed D’Eugenio, and Nathan Haerbig. Taking a win by forfeit: Parker Hipsley. In the second match of the day against the Middle River, the Warriors once again came out on top by a score of 51-30. Earning wins by pins over their opponents: Reed, D. Fitzgerald, Tommy Ellis, Evan Bliden, M. Haerbig, C. Fitzgerald, E. Avery, and R. D’Eugenio. Beating their opponents by points: C. Fitzgerald, Cam Werner, and N. Haerbig. Taking the forfeit for the win: Noah Wienclawski, and Ryan Battles. The Warriors Navy now has a record of 7-1 overall in league matches.
Warriors Lehigh 60 - Middle River 23 at Century High School. The Warriors closed their day with a victory over defending league champions Middle River. Ryder Eckenbarger, Matty Walsh, Matt Lawrence, Sean Scott, Brad Walsh, Jake Griffin, Tyler Curtis, and Riley Eckenbarger scored pins for the team, while Jack Akers capped the meet with a defensive fall in his match. Jake Griffin was name outstanding wrestler for his win.
Warriors Purple had a tough day of wrestling against Manchester on Saturday, January 12th. Winning by pin for the Warriors Purple were Andrew Cavrak, Drew Baker, Dominic Marsico, Jonathan Lee, Stephen Hurst, and Jake Munson. Also coming away with wins by decision were Andrew Cavrak, Drew Baker, Harrison Reed, and Anthony Marsico.
Warriors White wrestled in a double dual against Manchester on Saturday, January 12th. Pins by Ike Shanabarger (3), Matt Lattin, Nathan Crouse, Brenden Cline, Sam Kinloch, Austin Cirri, Nick Reed, John Pfaff, and Thomas Morey. Wins by decision for Nick Reed (in OT), Austin Cirri (2), Brennan Deibel (2), Mitchell Bowman (2), Jameson Little, Jacob Morey (2), John Pfaff, Ben Pfaff, Thomas Morey, Anthony Maroulis, Matt Lattin, Sam Kinloch (in OT), Brendan Cline, and Nick Reed.

Warriors Purple had a hard fought day of wrestling against the Northwest Red team on Saturday, January 5th. Winning matches by pin for Warriors Purple were Andrew Cavrak, Randy Green, Sean Connolly, Kevin Gage, and Carter Munson (2). Winning matches by decision for Warriors Purple were Dominic Marsico, Harrison Reed, Stephen Hurst, Zach Stump, and Jake Munson. Congratulations to all of the wrestlers!
Warriors Black had a great day of wrestling against the Northwest Black team on Saturday, January 5th. Winning matches by pin for Warriors Black were Nate Miller, Anthony Bond, Joey Kern, Joe Grupenhoff, and Aiden Bird. Weekend of 15 and 16 December 2012
The Warriors Lehigh team earned a solid 3-2 record at the Battle of Maryland's Best dual-meet tournament at Loyola Blakefield on December 15. The Warriors dropped early matches against two of the top teams in Maryland, but rebounded to win three straight against Mount Saint Joseph's by a score of 63-24, Arden by 45-40, and Burtonsville-Olney by 52-31. Ryder Eckenbarger, Matty Walsh, Jake Griffin, and Riley Eckenbarger wrestled to 4-1 records on the day, while Jack Akers complied a perfect 5-0 mark.
Warriors Navy vs ESP Spartans On the road, the Warriors Wrestling Club’s Navy travel team won an exciting match 46-45 over the ESP Spartans. After losing their first 5 bouts, the Warriors pulled it out for the win. Wrestlers winning by pin included Steve Dahl, Timmy O’Connell, Tommy Ellis, Nathan Haerbig, Connor Armstrong, and Billy Bentley. Taking their matches by points were Dylan Fitzgerald, Charlie Boldosser, and Carson Fitzgerald. The following won by forfeit: Jake McKenzie, Evan Bliden, and Parker Hipsley.
Warriors Navy vs Woodlawn In their second match of the day, the Warriors beat the Woodlawn team 64-26. Earning wins by pin included Carson Fitzgerald, Nate Brenner, Steven Dahl, Timmy O’Connell, and Parker Hipsley. Winners by points: Jake Gaskin, Dylan Fitzgerald, and Billy Bentley (exhibition). Taking wins by forfeit were Jake McKenzie, Evan Bliden, Noah Wienclawski, Sam Ashe, and Billy Bentley.

Warriors Lehigh 54 - Hickory 33 at Edmondson Westside High School. The Warriors Lehigh team continued their MJWL regular season with a win over Hickory Fountain Green. The lower weights started strong, with a pin from Trent Brauer the only win of the opening bouts. However, the Warriors middleweights responded with a run of 7 wins in the next eight bouts to take control of the match. Sean Scott, Brad Walsh, Jake Griffin, Colin Welch, Tristan Fallin, and Jack Akers all won by pin, while Jake Housman and Riley Eckenbarger won by forfeit. Alek Melanson added an exhibition win as well.
Warriors Lehigh 48 - McKim 36 at Edmondson Westside High School. The Warriors closed their day with a victory over a depleted McKim team. In this match it was the lower weights' turn to open up a lead which the middle weights extended for the win. Trent Brauer and Jake Griffin pinned their opponents, while Matthew Lawrence and Sean Scott won hard earned decisions. Ryder Eckenbarger, Tyler Curtis, and Jack Akers collected forfeits, and Matty Walsh, Shawn Rothstein and Chris Shanabarger added exhibition wins for the team.
The Warriors Purple team had a great weekend of wrestling against Westminster Black and Northwest Black. The following wrestlers recorded pins during the bouts: Ryan Baker (2), Andrew Cavrak (2), Matt Cavrak, Randy Green, Jake Hurst, Jack Dahl (2), Kevin Gage (2), Carter Munson (3), Harrison Reed (2), Jonah Rohrer, and Zach Stump. Warriors Navy vs Baltimore Centaurs On Sunday December 9, the Warriors Navy team dropped their first match of the year 44-37 to the Baltimore Centaurs. Earning wins by pin were Steve Dahl, Tommy Ellis and Nathan Haerbig. Winning by points included Zach Kinloch, and Nate Brenner. Wrestlers taking wins by forfeit were Jake Gaskin, Billy Bentley, and Braden Puller.
Warriors Navy vs Middletown In their second match of the day, the Warriors got back on the winning track with a 66-26 win over the host Middletown. Wrestlers pinning for the win included Carson Fitzgerald, Zach Kinloch, Nate Brenner, Jake Gaskin, Dylan Fitzgerald, Steve Dahl, Billy Bentley, Jake McKenzie, Cam Werner, and Tommy Ellis. Taking a win by forfeit were Cam Werner, and Noah Wienclawski.
Weekend of 1 and 2 December 2012
Warriors 57 - Northwest 27 at Century High School. The Warriors Lehigh team opened the 2012-13 season with a win over their opponents from Northwest Baltimore. After dropping a tough decision in the opening bout, Matty Walsh and Trent Brauer got the team on the right track with pins. Shawn Rothstein also pinned a veteran Northwest wrestler; Brad Walsh and Jake Griffin added pins later in the match. Sean Scott, Tyler Curtis, Tristan Fallin, and Riley Eckenbarger accepted forfeits. Jack Akers closed the team dual meet with an exciting come-from-behind 5-4 win.
Warriors 69 - Hereford 15 at Century High School. The Warriors Lehigh team finished the day with a decisive win over the Hereford team. Ryder Eckenbarger, Matty Walsh, Trent Brauer, Matt Lawrence, Shawn Rothstein, and Sean Scott all recorded consecutive first period pins to open for the Warriors. Tyler Curtis, Tristan Fallin, and Jack Akers added pins in their turn, while Riley Eckenbarger ground out a solid 3 point win. Brendan Bill and Jake Griffin accepted forfeits to contribute to the total team score.
