It was a tight game in first half, LD started the scoring with a 1-0 lead, Jeff scored on a free kick from beyond the 50 yrd mark to tie it up. LD then scored on a pk and Mike T tied up the game on a follow up from Nick P off a free kick dropped in the box from Jeff. Eric L got the GWG with some insurance from Dan T to finish off the game. With Missing Connor today the midfield was well taken care of by Brenden and Matt. We will take on a strong Pa. Class next weekend.

Before they United

"Before they united"

Before the team became the United they were the Warrington Lightning. They played u-9 & u-10 as the Lightning and played a total of 24 league games and won a total of "0" games.  The boys though loved the game. Many players came and went from the Lightning but today we still house 8 of the original players (Jeff, Adam, Danny T, Danny S, Russ, Brendan, Jake and Gilberto). These guys truly played thru the hard times of soccer, did I mention we only had one goal for in those 2 years. We faired better in some tournament play and actually won a few games against a couple "C" teams. We had no "B" team at the time and at tryouts had no more than 18 players.

At u-11 things started to look up we picked up a few good players from a local team. We added Collin, Sean, Mike T, Matt E. & Nick P and a goal scorer named Nick V came for a 1 year visit. With uniting the 2 teams we United their name, this was the beginning of the "United".  We started winning some games and ended in about 3rd place which was a big leap forward.  We did have 2 coaches step up and start a 2nd team Vince & Chick and with 40 kids trying out it looks as if we will have enough.

At u-12 yet a few more changes we added a young Connor S who like his father has a great love for the game. Connor added a center midfield dimension that we did not have. Andy sat quietly on the sidelines and watched for the first year. The team did well and again finished near the top of their 1st division.  Another 40 + kids at tryouts and the Revolution head ch=oach is moving on to Atlanta. Chick takes over the team.

Now at u-13 came some changes we were not expecting, we picked up a boy named Alec. Alec or as the boys liked to call him "man-child" had speed and strength unfortunately Alec made it one fall season and moved to Kentucky. What was very unique was as we thought the loss of Alec would really hurt we never realized how strong other players were getting around him. We also added to the line up Eric, Mike and Joe.  Andy joined the rank and file on the sidelines and gives the team their training sessions that they love.  The United took on a growth spurt of their own and are ready to move forward into the u-14 level in the fall of 2008!! We had 62 kids out for tryouts and the player prospects look very good for both teams. We took 1st place in the Elite div.of ICSL!
