Football clinic enjoyed by all! Coach Keevins and Ketcham High School offered a free football clinic on June 16 for kids in grades 2-6. It was a huge success with nearly 50 participants. Kids practiced various drills, learning the fundamentals of football—how to play offense and defense; how to keep and how to strip (or grab) the ball. As day turned to night, the kids were separated into teams of four to put what they learned to the test. Games were played round-robin, where each winning or losing team played the other winning or losing team. By the end of the night, it was evident that everyone—both the youth players and the Varsity Player/Coaches—had a great time. The clinic’s aim was to provide, in a positive environment, an opportunity for players to improve their skills and gain a deeper appreciation for the game. This goal is similar to that of Ketcham High School, which seeks to successfully promote the sport not only among its students but also among our community. By hosting the free clinic, Coach Keevins and Ketcham High School officials believe they’ve had a positive impact. “We are confident that next year will be even better, and will help both the Wappingers Pop Warner and Ketcham Football programs grow,” says Coach Keevins. “We look forward to working together to ensure future success for both programs.” Our heartfelt thanks to Coach Keevins, the varsity players and coaches for hosting such a wonderful and successful event. Thursday, April 30 2009 Ketcham Football Clinic Ketcham High School is presenting a football clinic in June for boys entering grades 2-6. This is a free clinic aimed to provide participants with the opportunity to improve their skills as a player while gaining an appreciation for the game of football in a positive environment. The clinic is open to everyone. Beginners, as well as experienced players, are encouraged to attend. The clinic will be held on Wednesday, June 17 and Thursday, June 18 from 5pm to 8pm at Ketcham High School. You must send in the registration form to reserve your space.
