2009 Elections Meeting
The Elections Meeting, for the purpose of selecting a new Board of Directors (BoD) for the 2009-2010 Season, was held on Tuesday, October 20th, at 7:00pm at the Jaycees Center in Waldorf.
I would like to Welcome and/or Welcome Back all of our 2010 Board Members! It is quite refreshing to see that there are still alot of folks who really are involved in making a positive difference in the lives of the kids and the community of Waldorf!
We are looking forward to another exciting and challenging season. The BoD works year-round to make sure the League runs as smoothly as possible. We will hold our 1st BoD meeting during the early part of December. The complete list of our BoD can be found under the "Board" link on the left of this screen.

Columbus Day Tournament
The Tournament was a HUGE success!!! We had 10 total teams from Southern Maryland compete in 12U and 15U divisions.
The weather cooperated for the most part, a little rain and a bit chilly, but overall pretty good weather for the entire 4 days of games.
Special thanks to the District for coordinating another great event for the kids. We had many W.L.L. BoD members and parents of players who volunteered their time over the "long" weekend to help in the Stand, at the Game tables, and with umpiring.
Our dedicated BoD and the players' parents are what makes us one of the best Leagues...

Junior Baseball
2009
District 7 Champions

Junior Baseball, coming into the tournament, was really deep with talent at the pitchers spot. This proved to be a great sign of things to come for the team. The team overall pitched superb in every game. The offense was also to be reckoned with, having many capable hitters. Junior Baseball defeated SMNLL, PRLL and SMALL in the first 3 rounds to go 3-0 and advance to the Championship Game. The SMALL team advanced back through the losers bracket to face Junior Baseball in the Championship Game at Regency Furniture Stadium on Friday night. Junior Baseball had almost there full allotment of pitchers available due to the smart pitching totals the manager kept each player under. #1 pitcher Anderson Burgess pitched an almost complete game gem. Allowing 0 runs in 6 1/3 innings. #2 pitcher Aaron Long pitched in the 7th inning, recording 2 outs, before giving way for starter Anderson to finish the game up with another strikeout. Junior Baseball won the game 9-0
Junior Baseball WINS the MD D7 Championship Flag!
SUPER JOB Junior Baseball !!
Maryland State Tournament
Game #1
Junior Baseball began the tournament against Talbot LL. The team got off to a quick 2-0 lead after 2 innings. Talbot fought back with 3 runs of their own to take a 3-2 lead. Junior Baseball scored 2 more times in the top of the inning but Talbot LL scored 4 times in the bottom of the inning to lead 7-4. Talbot hung on to win 9-4.
Game #2
Junior Baseball next matched up againist West Salisbury LL. Junior Baseball fell behind in a very good defensive game 1-0 after 2 innings. SS Aaron Long had an outstanding "Web Gem" catch to rob a sure double from the West Salisbury team. Pitcher Leighton Bannister pitched into the 3rd inning before rain moved in and delayed the game. After a 4 1/2 hour rain delay the teams resumed play in the top of the 6th inning with West Salisbury leading 4-1. Junior Baseball scored a run and the 3rd out of the inning was made on a terrible call at 2nd base when Kahlil Jones attempted to steal. It really was a momentum changer, but these things happen. Junior Baseball shutdown West Salisbury in the bottom of the 6th. Junior Baseball then managed to get runners on 1st and 3rd with 2 outs. The final out to end the game was on a swinging strike-out. West Salisbury won the game 4-2.
