West Virginia District 6: Safety Plan
2013 ASAP
The 2013 ASAP Safety Plan Guidance has been released by Little League International. The Safety Plan consists of four (4) sections. These sections are (1) Organization, (2) Training, (3) Facilities and Equipment and (4) Activities. The required information that must be included for the 2013 League Safety Plan is provided on this page.
The League Safety Officer should have a copy of the 2012 League Safety Plan. The plan needs to be updated for the 2013 season. The Safety Officer should provide the scheduled date(s) for all mandatory trainings (First Aid and Fundamentals). The Safety Plan should be completed and submitted before sign-ups and the selection of volunteers (managers, coaches, umpires, etc.). All District 6 League Safety Plans must be submitted to Little League Headquarters and approved by Little League Headquarters by Feb 14, 2013.
Little League has added an addition requirement that is highly recommended in 2013 and will be mandatory in 2014. The requirement reads - "Submit league player registration data or player Roster data and coach and manager data" (Little League player registration data or player roster data and coach and manager data may be submitted via the Little League Data Center at www.LittleLeague.org). It is recommended that Local Leagues identify the person(s) responsible for submitting this information and establish a procedure to submit the information by the deadline established by Little League (unknown at this time, but will be before the season begins or soon after). You may want to add an additional page to the Safety Plan outlining the person(s) responsible and the procedure. But this is not required for the 2013 Safety Plan.
