A Tribute: Paul Marino
After another strong season, the Tides head into an offseason that will have several changes on the horizon. After the most successful five years in team history manager Paul Marino is stepping down and moving into the WRWBL's front office to serve as full-time commissioner. He leaves the team with a 93-51 all-time record.
As manager of the Tides, Marino stewarded the team's rebranding from the Cortlandt Riveters to the Peekskill Tides and helped the team move into its current home at Louisa Street Field at Peekskill Stadium. He also overhauled a roster that now boasts a young and strong nucleus. The Tides have made the playoffs in each year he managed the club and have reached the league semifinals the past three seasons.
All of the Tides players appreciate both Paul and assistant coach Mike Strutt's (who is also departing) commitment to the team and more importantly to them as individuals. We will miss their leadership and we wish Paul well in his new role as commissioner. If you wish to leave Paul or Mike a congratulatory message we encourage you to do so in our guestbook below!
