Welcome to the home of the Westchester Cubs

About the Cubs
The Cubs are a team with a long history in the WRWBL (Westchester Rockland Wood Bat league). 2007 will be the 8th season this team has been together posting a 76-99 overall record in seven years. Excluding the 2003 season which dropped their overall record below 500 and an (8-17) rebuilding 2005 season, the Cubs have always put a good product on the field making five post-season appearances. As for the players, one thing a Cubs roster always has is character. Led by their coach Greg Locke, Cub teams have always displayed a no-quit attitude causing hard-fought games for opponents. Through the years the Cubs have been known for a lethal offensive attack but in 2006 it was the dominant pitching staff that helped lead the way. The 2007 Cubs will need to build off last seasons impressive playoff run with a more balanced attack of picthing and offense. Look for the Cubs to make another strong playoff push in 2007.

Cubs Retire 3 Numbers!!
Today the Cubs announced that the numbers 23, 29, and 31 are retired. The number 23 will stay active with Player/Manager Greg Locke but will never be worn again after him in honor of Steve " Crafty" D'ambrosio. Steve, a founding member of the team and perrenial All-star and Mvp candidate was the heart and soul of the team for 4 years and is still among the Cubs all-time leaders in all offensive categories. The number 29 will be retired in honor of Greg Malek. Malek was a dominating pitcher in the league for 4 years establishing many pitching records as well as throwing the first ever WRWBL no-hitter on opening day 2002. Finally, the number 31 will be retired in honor of Anthony "Bada Bing" Ascanio. Ascanio, the asst. manager/player for the last 7 years was a leader on the field as well as a huge help behind the scenes. We would like to thank these 3 originals for helping us start the Cub family tradition.
