WINTER PARK TIGERS: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Sunday, April 5
Winter Park Pop Warner is now registering kids for our:  32nd season of play!

Schedule & Conference: WPPW plays a ten game regular season, with playoffs to follow if the team qualifies.

There are 40 teams in the Mid-Florida conference with 12 teams in division 1 & 28 teams in Division 2.

WPPW does not schedule/play the same team twice in the regular season.  WPPW competed in Division 1 for the 2008 season.

What is the time commitment to play Pop Warner?  In the month of August WPPW will practice

each week night from 5:30PM to 7:30PM.   The games will start the first Saturday in September.

Once the games start WPPW will practice on: Tuesday’s, Thursday’s & Friday nights from 5:30 to 7:30PM.

This equates to 6 hours of practice a week and a game on Saturday.  Compare this to any other organized sport.

Is participation in Pop Warner Safe? YES! Pop Warner has a long history of providing a safe environment for all of our members.  Athletes compete with athletes of similar age and size. Pop Warner is the ONLY youth football program (local, regional and national) that sets & enforces a strict MATRIX that reduces the risk and reality of injuries. Did you know that Pop Warner football is safer than soccer? Pop Warner football has 12% fewer injuries per capita among 5-15 year olds than organized soccer in the same age range!

What are the Age & Weight Divisions? For football players, you will play in an age-weight division with similar players of your age and weight range. Pop Warner is open to players ages 5-16, with your age being determined by your age on 7/31 of that year. Please review the Age-Weight Matrix located at: www.popwarner.com to determine the division of play you or your child is eligible for. Cheerleaders and dancers the ages range from 5-16. The spirit program is broken into nine age divisions ranging from Tiny-Mite (ages 5-7) up to Bantam (ages 13-16). Cheerleading squads are also broken down into Large (20-35) & Small (19 or fewer) Squads, and three different competition levels (Novice, Intermediate and Advanced).
