During the 2003 American Legion baseball season, Whitestown Post 1113 had a roller coster up-and-down year through most of the regular season... but played extremely well during the last week of league play and into the Oneida County Playoffs, finishing with an overall record of 23-18. When the dust had settled, the crew from Whitestown ended up in 2nd place in the Gold Division with a 13-6 league record... and seeded third for post season play. In the eight-team double-elimination Oneida County Playoffs, WP 1113 won the first three games of the tournament (over Adrean 6-1, New Hartford 14-1, and Utica 7-3) to advance to the finals before being knocked out by Utica on back-to-back days by the scores of 14-6 and 10-2. It was a different story after the first round of the New York State District V Playoffs held at Murnane Field. After dropping the opening game to Lowville by the final score of 11-10 by failing to secure a three-run lead entering the 9th inning, Whitestown faced an uphill battle in the eight-team double-elimination tournament... bumped this year to nine-inning contests. But WP 1113 held tough by holding off Ilion 6-5 in a 2nd round elimination game and then knocked out both Pulaski 17-2 and Utica 7-4 from the tournament in both ends of a doubleheader to advance to the semi-finals. In the first game of another doubleheader the following day, WP prevailed once again, sending Adrean home by plating the game-winning run in the bottom of the 9th inning for a hard fought 6-5 victory. But in the championship round in the second game, New Hartford ended Whitestown's season by the final score of 7-2 to advance to the New York State Tournament. Two post-season tournaments, two runner-up finishes... another exciting American Legion baseball baseball season from the boys of Whitestown Post 1113.

WP 1113 finished with an overall record of 23-16 in 2002, but played exceptionally well over the last week-and-a-half of the regular season and into the Oneida County Playoffs and New York State District V Tournament. After dropping to 5-7 in league play on July 10th, WP 1113 faced post-season elimination for the first time in over ten years. With their backs to the wall, WP 1113 was tasked with playing seven league games in the final nine days of the regular season. Practically left for dead, WP 1113 pitching and hitting finally sparked on all cylinders over an extended period... and won all seven games to nail down a playoff spot. The final four games, on consecutive days, resulted in four one-run victories... two in extra innings. As it turned out, one loss over the last seven games and WP would have been on the outside looking in... and the end of the 2002 season. But with the seven-game winning streak, not only did WP 1113 qualify for the post season, the boys from Whitestown ended up in 2nd place in the Gold Division and seeded fourth in the playoffs. In the eight-team double-elimination Oneida County Playoffs, WP dropped their first game to Helmuth-Ingalls 12-3, but won the next three games over Moran 9-3, New Hartford 2-1, and Helmuth-Ingalls again 5-4 to advance to the semi-finals before being knocked out by Smith 8-3... but in the process qualified for the District V Tournament. New life, same result... one loss (4-3 to Ilion), three straight wins (10-4 over Brockville, 8-5 over Watertown, and 8-6 over Ilion), and another semi-final loss (4-2 to Utica). All in all another great American Legion Baseball season for the boys in red, white, and blue from Whitestown Post 1113.
