Candice Dupree scored 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Sky controlled the offensive glass and the pace of the game in their 73-66 home victory over the Liberty on Friday. Stacey Dales poured in 11 points.

As the Sky organization has been readying for the season behind the scenes, the time has come to do what they do best- hit the court and play the game. As training camp gets underway, head coach Dave Cowens is adapting to coaching in the WNBA for the first time and getting to know his players on a more fundamental level.
Meanwhile, Sky rookies and veterans alike are stretching their skills in the gym and enjoying the chance to begin working on their style of play as a team. Veteran league players Nikki McCray and Brooke Wyckoff commented on their excitement to be in Chicago and to work with Cowens, offering their assistance on anything from scouting to providing some needed familiarity with the league.
With Cowens as general manager and head coach, a group of seasoned WNBA leaders and a fresh crop of rookie picks, the Sky stands poised to begin a competitive and exciting inaugural season.
