Bring it
Neck guards

Neck guards are required in WMJVHL games and practices, but we can’t ask referees to enforce the rule – it’s not a USA requirement. This is a reminder to everyone that it is a WMJVHL requirement and please adhere to it. If any player is injured and is not wearing a neck guard that team is legally at risk.

Explination of Game Misconducts for WMJVPHL

IX.        Discipline of Team Members
The WMJV Hockey League expects that each individual team will handle their own behavioral discipline in keeping with good sportsmanship of a developmental League for young people. Specific rules that will cause disciplinary action from the WMJV Hockey League will involve the following:

A.        Any team member, whether player or non-playing team official who incurs a game misconduct penalty in a WMJV Hockey League game shall be subject to the following League action in addition to USA Hockey and MAHA rules: first game misconduct in a season: one game suspension; second game misconduct in a season: two game suspension; third game misconduct in a season: expulsion from the WMJV Hockey League for the remainder of the current season and any subsequent playoff games. The games suspension(s) must be served in the next scheduled WMJV Hockey League game(s) (games that were already on the official WMJV Hockey League schedule at the time of the penalty)(see Article X below) and cannot be served in a non-scheduled game whether it is played against a WMJV Hockey League opponent. Game misconducts must be reported to a designated league official.
B.        An ad hoc disciplinary committee consisting of the League President and one member of each division appointed by the president will be convened to review and recommend disciplinary action against any team or participant.
C.        If other questionable behavior occurs any team may request a special meeting of the Board of Directors requesting disciplinary action against any team member. A two-thirds majority will determine if and what special discipline will be administered

Examples of the game misconduct (GA) rule for WMJVPHL:

1.  If a player or coach receives a GA in any non league game he must sit the next scheduled game.  This satisfies USA/MAHA   There is no penalty from WMJVHL.  This is the USA/MAHA rule whether it is one, two or three GA for the season

2.  If a player or coach receives his/her 1st GA in any WMJVPH League game he must sit the next scheduled game (league or non league) for USA/MAHA.  He must then also (in addition to) sit the next scheduled WMJVPH League game.  They may not be one in the same.

The coach or player will then have sat 2 games.

Example of #2    May 7 League game:  Player/Coach get a GA.

May 8  League game  Sit out.  Satisfies USA/MAHA

May 9  Non league game.  Play or coach

May 10 League game  Sit out.  Satisfies WMJVPHL

Another Example   May 7 League game:  Player/Coach get a GA.

May 8  Non League game  Sit out.  Satisfies USA/MAHA

May 9 League game  Sit out.  Satisfies WMJVPHL

3.  If a player or coach receives his/her 2nd GA in any WMJVPH League game he must sit the next scheduled game (league or non league) for USA/MAHA.  He must then also (in addition to) sit the next TWO scheduled WMJVPH League game.  They may not be one in the same.

The coach or player will then have sat 3 games.

Example of #3        May 7 League game:  Player/Coach get a GA.

May 8 League game:  Sit out.  Satisfies USA/MAHA

May 8 Non League game:  Sit out   Satisfies USA/MAHA

May 18 League game:  Sit out game 1

May 19 League game:  Sit out game 2   Satisfies WMJVPHL
