WINSTON-SALEM, NC--Junior Mike Wert scattered 3 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits through 6 innings, and Senior Michael Hanson closed out Bridgewater for his 2nd save of the season as Washington and Lee eliminated defending champs Bridgewater 6-4 in the ODAC Tournament. Sophomore Zach Bausch was 3-4 with a double and triple, and
Sophomore Chris Chaplin went 2-3 to lead the Generals' attack. Trailing 1-0 in the 3rd, Senior Brian Gladysz got the Generals on the board with a 2 run double, scoring Chaplin, who singled, and Junior Austin Allain, who reached base on an error. Gladysz came round to score after Senior Bobby Littlehale singled when Junior Bryan Mulhern reached base on an error, his 47th single-season record RBI. Mulhern scored on a double by Bausch after Junior Dan Kagey singled, completing a 4 run inning. 
After the Eagles climbed to within 1 run, Bausch tripled in the fifth, and came home on Freshman Taylor McConnell 's double. The Generals scored again in the 8th when Hanson scored on two wild pitches after doubling in the inning. The win was a record 25th for the Generals, and sends them into the ODAC Championship game, against Virginia Wesleyan, for the first time since 1999. Game time is 1:00 p.m. at Ernie Shores Field in Winston-Salem.
