MULHERN'S 2 HOMERS, GRANDSLAM, EARN SPLIT WITH GUILFORD

GREENSBORO, NC -- Junior Bryan Mulhern led the Generals on a Bryan Mulhern, 4-6, 2 homeruns, including grandslam, and a W&L record 8 RBIs, to lead W&L to 14-3 win over Guilford rampage in the second game of the last regular conference doubleheader of the season, avenging a first game loss, by hitting his 5th and 6th homeruns, including a grandslam in the 5th inning, and knocked in a school single game record 8 runs as the Generals defeated Guilford 14-3. Junior Dan Kagey earned his 7th win against 2 defeats, pitching 7 strong innings, while giving up 1 earned run and striking out 6.

   Peter Dean pitched well enough to Chris Chaplin, 3-6, including 2 doubles in 2-3 second game win over Guilford Collegewin the first game, which the Generals dropped 5-4, but W&L gave up 4 unearned runs in the 2nd inning. In the first game, Sophomore Chris Chaplin led the Generals, going 2-3 with 2 doubles. Senior Brian Gladysz was also 2-3. Other hits were added by Junior Austin Allain and Sophomore Warren Hunter.

   In the second game, Mulhern was 4-6, Allain (2-5) doubled twice, Gladysz was 2-3 with 2 David Mackenzie, 2-5, RBI and run scored in win over Guilford CollegeRBIs and scored 2 runs, Sophomore Zack Bausch was 3-5, and Freshman David Mackenzie was 2-5 with an RBI and scored a run. Other hits were added by Senior Michael Hanson, Kagey, Chaplin and Freshman Taylor McConnell. The Generals head into the ODAC Tournament Thursday, at Ernie Shore Field in Winston-Salem, NC April 24th as the second seed, finishing 15-3 in the conference, and 22-5 to date.
