LEXINGTON, Va--
Even though students were on spring break after a tough week of final exams, 215 fans came out to see strong performances by Junior pitchers Peter Dean, Dan Kagey and Mike Wert who shutout Lynchburg in an ODAC doubleheader Sunday, to give the Generals (20-3) their 19th and 20th wins of the season, and Coach Jeff Stickley his 200th and 201st coaching wins. Junior Austin Allain singled in Freshman Scott Gosselink in the bottom of the 7th to give Dean, who pitched a 2 hitter, his 6th victory against 1 defeat. Allain was 4-8 with a double and 3 RBIs, and Senior Bobby Littlehale hit 4-7.
In the nightcap, Junior Dan Kagey also improved to 6-1, 
striking out 7 and giving up only 3 hits while posting an 8-0 shutout win over the Hornets, with 2 shutout innings of relief from Junior Mike Wert. Gosselink was 2-3, Sophomore Zack Bausch 3-7, and Michael Hanson hit his 42nd career double. Other hits were added by Junior Bryan Mulhern, Senior Brian Gladysz, Kagey, and Sophomore Warren Hunter. The Generals return to action Tuesday for an away game against Roanoke, and Thursday, at home against Southern Virginia College.
