MICHAEL HANSON BREAKS ALL-TIME W&L HIT RECORD IN SWEEP OF ROYALS, AS GENERALS DEFEAT EMU 7-1, 15-2
HARRISONBURG, VA---Senior shortstop Michael Hanson 
became W&L's career hit leader in the second game of a doubleheader sweep of Eastern Mennonite Saturday, going 4-5 for 165 career hits, surpassing the record set by Matt Kozora last year. Hanson was 5-9 on the day with a double, boosting his All-Time doubles total to 39. In the first game 7-1 win, Senior Bobby Littlehale and Junior catcher Bryan Mulhern led the Generals with 2 hits each with Littlehale adding to his double stats, and Mulhern hitting a homerun. Jujior Peter Dean won his 4th win in 5 outings, striking out 11 batters while giving up 1 run in 7 innings.
In the second game, a 15-2 win, the Generals erupted
for 10 runs in the last 4 innings to give Junior pitcher Dan Kagey his 4th win in 5 starts. Kagey struck out 5 over 7 innings, giving up 1 earned runs, and helped his own cause, going 4-4, including a double. Hanson (4-6) hit his 40th career double and 13th career triple, and Sophomore Adam Bullock, 2-4, also doubled for the Generals. Junior Bryan Mulhern was 4-6, Junior Austin Allain 3-6, Sophomore catcher Zach Bausch 2-5 with 4 RBIs, and Sophomore Warren Hunter was 2-4 for the Generals. Senior Bobby Littlehale and Freshman Taylor McConnell also added hits for W&L.
The Generals travel to Harrisonburg Saturday for a key ODAC game against defending champs Bridgewater Tuesday at 3 pm, followed by a home game against Hartwick at 3 pm Wednesday.
