WESCO Jr Football League: Welcome
The Western Conference Junior Football League (WesCo Jr Football) mission is to provide youth in Western Washington the opportunity to participate in a safe tackle football and cheer program. Where each local organization can operate independently and cooperatively with each other to provide a positive athletic experience for each participant and to allow each participant to play in a youth football league that’s competitive and fair. The WESCO JR Football League is the largest youth football league based in Snohomish County. Our league spans from Edmonds to Stanwood and serves over 1200 kids in Snohomish County. The WJFL is a non-profit league dedicated to teaching Sportsmanship, Team work, Self Discipline,Leadership, and the Proper Fundamentals of football in a positive environment. Many of todays best players at thelocal high schools were once players in the WJFL.
WJFL Divsions
In the WJFL, Divisons are formed by Age just like other sports, not some made up formula of age and weight like other leagues. This eliminates the scenario of younger heavier kids being forced to play with much older and more physically and mentally mature players. For Example, 6 & 7 year olds have their own teams and are not forced to play with 9 year olds. In fact, The Mayo clinic did an analysis of body weight & injuries of youth football players and found that lighter players were not at any greater risk for injury; as a matter of fact heavier players had a slightly but not significantly higher incidence of injury.
