Leopard
Program Overview
Overview

The Wentworth baseball program is a competitive program that emphasizes winning and playing baseball at a sophisticated level. The current goal of the program is to win the Commonwealth Coast Conference, and thus gain an automatic entrance to the NCAA Division III regional playoffs.

The schedule consists of a five-week fall program, which consists of tryouts, practices and the maximum number of games allowed by the NCAA. The winter months from November to January are the off-season, reserved for strength and conditioning. And the official spring season starts on or around February 1st with indoor practices in the gym. Games begin in Florida over spring break in early March. Upon returning to Boston the Leopards play approximately 25 games, including a full conference schedule.

The history of the program is formidable considering current Athletic Director Lee Conrad restarted the program only in the mid-80s. The Leopards have won CCC titles in 1989, 1990, and 1996. In the last three seasons the team has grown more competitive. This improvement is a step in the right direction, yet the coaching staff remains committed to recruiting and preparing the team to return to Wentworth’s prior winning ways.
